MAGIC WANDS : ‘Remixes EP’ – new EP by US dream-pop duo out 12th June 2026

US dream-pop duo Magic Wands have released a new remix EP today (12th June) on Metropolis Records. The six track ‘Remixes EP’ includes reworkings of four songs from their current studio album, ‘Cascades’ (2025), one from its 2023 predecessor ‘Switch’, plus the 2026 single ‘Sacred Mirrors’. The last of these was a collaboration with Psychedelic Furs guitarist John Ashton and has been remixed by Lost Signal. It can be heard HERE.

“This EP brings together artists we genuinely admire,” states Magic Wands vocalist/guitarist and co-producer Dexy Valentine. “Our Metropolis labelmates Lost Signal, Principe Valiente and Delerium contributed remixes, each bringing their own unique perspectives to our songs. We were also thrilled when Glass Chapel and our friend Lars Deutsch (an Emmy winning composer) got involved, adding other distinct voices to the collection. We’re really happy with how it turned out.”

Guitarist/co-producer Chris Valentine adds: “What makes this release special is how differently these artists approached the material. Every track reveals something new about the original songs, with each also standing in their own right. We’re honoured to have had so many talented friends and collaborators be a part of it.”

Originally formed in Nashville, but now based in Los Angeles, Magic Wands are the duo of vocalists/guitarists Dexy and Chris Valentine. Renowned for a shimmering, dreamy sound that melds elements of shoegaze, dream-pop, post-punk and goth, their music utilises heavily textured guitars, synth drones and ethereal vocals to conjure an otherworldly atmosphere.

Their current album, ‘Cascades’, was released in October 2025. It explores transformation, reflection and the pull of distant horizons. Imbued with the spirit of centuries-old poetry, gothic romance and myth, its celestial mood bridges the sound of their 2012 debut album, ‘Aloha Moon’, with subsequent releases.

2026 has also seen the release of an EP entitled ‘Wishing Well’, which included the recent singles ‘Sacred Mirrors’ and ‘Wishing Well’, two new songs, plus two remixes of tracks from ‘Cascades’.
