Goth pop band, METAMORPH unveils a lush gothic lullaby for the Spring Equinox – the new single, “Sweet Nothings” – a love spell against despair. “Sweet Nothings” unfolds as a witchy incantation—where intimacy becomes refuge, and devotion becomes its own form of magic.
Built on hushed atmospheres and romantic melody, “Sweet Nothings” frames love not as escape, but as preservation—a private spell held close as the world trembles outside. Roses, lace, and whispered vows move through the song like symbols in a love ritual, while Margot Day’s intimate vocals and flute draw the listener into a hidden refuge.
“The world’s unraveling, falling apart, but love drowns the echoes I scream in the dark.”
The accompanying video, filmed in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica by Brian Wimer and featuring Margot Day and Kurtis Knight, extends the song’s visual world: intimacy held steady as everything else collapses.
Listen and watch now— METAMORPH‘s “Sweet Nothings” is out on all major platforms, including Bandcamp and Spotify… and on Beltane, May 1, METAMORPH returns after dark, conjured into a dance mix.
In the realm of goth-pop, METAMORPH emerges as a mystical force. The project stars native New Yorker Margot Day— a multi-range vocalist, flutist, and songwriter who was an integral part of the 1980s NYC goth scene as frontwoman of the legendary band The Plague, performing alongside notable drummers Nick Ferrell (Spahn Ranch) and Damian (Misfits). Earlier in her career, Day was also bandmates with Adam Yauch (Beastie Boys) in her first band, Slow Walk 13.
Formed in 2016, METAMORPH blends gothic atmosphere, dark synth textures, and hook-driven pop centered on Day’s soaring vocals and expressive flute work. Releases include Kiss of the Witch (2022), HEX (2024), and Haunted Hearts XIII (2025)—produced by Erik Gustafson—along with remixes by industrial and darkwave icons Leæther Strip and Assemblage 23. The single “Dance of a 1000 Miracles,” a collaboration with Chris Hall of Stabbing Westward, appeared on the Electronic Saviors 7 compilation and has surpassed 20,000 Spotify streams.
By her side on stage is Kurtis Knight, whose dark synths, dance-driven energy, and backing vocals help conjure METAMORPH’s lush, otherworldly performances. Together they fuse technology and magic to deliver shows that are danceable, cinematic, and intoxicating.
METAMORPH continues to expand internationally, with performances across the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. Their visually driven music videos have drawn over 200,000 views on YouTube, documenting the evolving world of the project.
Traveling with their tiny mascot Melody, METAMORPH invites listeners into a dark-romantic universe where pop melodies, gothic atmosphere, and magic collide.
