Midnight Poetry, the creative union of John Spanos and Cleopatra Kaido, unveil their latest single “Dracula’s Poison”. This hypnotic darkwave/synthwave piece serves as a haunting precursor to their upcoming debut album; “Dive Into The Darkness”, slated for release on April 17th, 2026, via Manic Depression Records.
Drenched in gothic romanticism and fuelled by somber electronic pulses, “Dracula’s Poison” narrates the agony of unfulfilled desire into an intense sonic and visual experience.
The accompanying music video is a testament to the DIY culture. Scripted by vocalist Cleopatra Kaido, her vision was brought to life through the collaboration of John Spanos and the creative team.
Within the sphere of “Dracula’s Poison”, we witness the unravelling of fate-bound couples, lovers born in the past whose stories remained incomplete. The inability to process the void of loss, transforms into a dark act of redemption, where “poison” becomes the ultimate symbol of escape.
The figure of Dracula stands as a metaphor for the unattainable and the eternal, a presence that defies conquest. The touch of immortality becomes an obsession, an existential collision between the mortal and the infinite.
Written and composed by Cleopatra Kaido and John Spanos, the track weaves a soundscape that drifts between electro, darkwave, synthwave, and dark pop, characterized by a sensual and emotionally charged atmosphere.

Midnight Poetry is the new project of Cleopatra Kaido and John Spanos. A promising project with dark, electronic compositions with elements of melodic post-punk and also industrial pop, influenced by bands such as VNV Nation, Diary of Dreams, New Order, Clan of Xymox and newer artists.
Cleopatra Kaido has previously released two albums, “Artificial Galaxy” (2013) with Drama Queen (post punk, goth, alternative) and “System Amomaly” (2020) with “Meat Injection” (Synth Wave, Post Punk, Dark Electro, Minimal). She performed in many live shows as well as collaborations with other musicians, and now she returns strongly where her worries turn into creativity and inspiration, with John Spanos by her side.
John Spanos has already released 5 personal albums and several releases in compilations from the goa/psychedelic trance scene, with Radical Distortion as well as his solo project as John Spanos under the sounds of Ambient/Chill Out/Future Garage with many appearances at festivals and events abroad. John is adding his own touch to this musical genre, having Cleopatra Kaido by his side.
Midnight Poetry have completed the debut album, “Dive Into The Darkness”, to be released via Manic Depression Records, on April 17th. “Dive Into The Darkness” will be out on Vinyl/CD Digipack/Digital.
It will be available for pre-order on March 27, along with the release of the single and official video for “Dracula’s Poison”.
