DAWN OF ASHES : ‘Anatomy Of Suffering’ – new album OUT TODAY!

The new album by dark electronic/aggrotech act Dawn Of Ashes (DOA) is out today (20th March). Produced, mixed and mastered by group founder and mastermind Kristof Bathory, ‘Anatomy of Suffering’ is a darker, heavier chapter in the group’s evolution, fusing raw atmosphere with precision production. It is also a brutal homage to their early years, with Bathory stating that “it revisits and revitalises the foundation of blackened dark electro, carrying that sound forward with a sharper, more refined edge. It captures the raw atmosphere and aggression that defined the genre’s origins, and will resonate strongly with fans of our mid-late ‘00s releases.”

A video for the current DOA single, ‘Viral Decay’, has been made available to coincide with the album release and can be seen HERE. Directed by Christopher Trueman, it is a visceral journey into industrial aggression.

‘Anatomy of Suffering’ features collaborations with Unter Null, Void Statis & BlakMoth and Suicide Commando (the Belgian artist Johan Van Roy). The last of these provided a vocal for ‘Penumbra’, the first single to be lifted from the album.

With a group name that suggests ‘the beginning of the end’, Dawn Of Ashes (DOA) was founded in Los Angeles by Kristof Bathory at the turn of the millennium. Emerging from the industrial and aggrotech genres before expanding into the blackened metal and extreme industrial scenes, they have been a relentless force ever since, evolving and redefining the boundaries of extreme music.

Bathory relocated to Denmark shortly before writing and recording DOA’s 2025 album, ‘Infecting The Scars’. It was a record that marked a rebirth, fusing the raw, unfiltered aggression of the past with a refined and evolved sound. A remix EP, ‘Reinfecting The Scars’, was issued in November 2025.
