London’s Darkest Sound Returns — Amnesiak Reignite Attention Around Arkfiend

London-based doom/gothic rock quartet Amnesiak are calling everyone back into their shadows. With the debut album Arkfiend now fully released (August 15, 2025), the band’s rich tapestry of haunting voices, raw emotional weight, and mysterious lyrical narratives demands renewed attention. With conviction and purpose, Amnesiak are turning the spotlight back on Arkfiend — a record that refuses to be forgotten — as the band readies new music, live performances, and a fresh wave of interviews and features that showcase their haunting artistry.

“Out of the darkness comes a light. And the torch Amnesiak are shining makes them a band not to be easily forgotten.” — Nick Ruskell, Kerrang!

Emotional & Narrative Depth Arkfiend doesn’t simply evoke darkness — it inhabits it, exploring the fractured minds of killers, victims, and bystanders alike. “A sort of memoir about forgotten crimes left behind,” the band explains. No one should be forgotten; no one should be murdered.

Musical Identity at the Crossroads Between gothic, doom, ethereal atmospheres, touches of trip-hop, and occasional nods to Depeche Mode, Amnesiak’s palette is varied yet singular. Their influences include The Doors, Dead Can Dance, Patti Smith, Mark Lanegan, Kate Bush, Nick Cave, and Jefferson Airplane — shaping a sound that lingers long after it ends.

Critical Interest International webzines have begun praising Arkfiend’s “visionary doom/gothic rock” and theatrical intensity. Fans describe it as a haunting yet beautiful experience that “feels like the soundtrack to the forgotten corners of the mind.”

Amnesiak first emerged in 2020, conceived by Grace Wilson and Francesco Fonte. From their inception, the duo sought to merge melancholic, heavy soundscapes with an enigmatic lyrical lens probing deeply into the psyches of killers and victims.

Building upon the sonic groundwork laid by the greats of the goth and doom canons, Amnesiak are known for their haunting voices and poetic darkness — a sound somewhere between Chelsea Wolfe, Dead Can Dance, and Wardruna. Their aim is to connect through an original sound and lyrics that reach beyond the ordinary, “hoping to create a legacy for those who catch the message behind our music.”

With momentum at an all-time high following the release of Arkfiend, the band is already hard at work crafting new material, setting the stage for what promises to be their biggest year yet.
