Society 1 have officially begun filming the follow up to their #1 movie Everyone Dies (Rock Stars Don’t Count). The new half documentary half concert film will be called “Rise From The Dead” and follows the band throughout 2025 conducting interviews and featuring multiple songs from their comeback show at the world famous Whisky A Go Go.
“The most asked question about the last movie was why there wasn’t more music so for this one we’re focusing a lot on actual performances. There will still be a narrative aspect to it but with live songs being performed throughout.” said Zane
The new documentary follows the band, Jimmy Minj, Erik Kluiber, Matt Zane and new drummer Jon Asher in the aftermath of releasing Everyone Dies and the surprising often negative results that transpired.
“We really thought we’d get a bit of that Anvil type love like they did after their documentary was released but the opposite happened. No one would get near us. We couldn’t even pay bands to take us on tour or PR companies to represent us.”
This announcement comes on the heels of the Heavy Music Artwork book release entitled Everyone Dies “The Matt Zane Reckoning” by Author Alex Milazzo.
Production on Rise From The Dead will be wrapped by Jan 2026 and is looking to be released early in the same year.’
