Greek synth duo Paradox Obscur have proudly unveiled their new studio album today, with ‘IKONA’ being the result of a three year creative journey following the critically acclaimed ‘Morphogenesis’. Born from the fertile ground laid by that predecessor, ‘IKONA’ transcends stylistic boundaries and musical identities, embracing a deeply personal form of electronic expression.
This new body of work is a synthesis of old-school methodology and contemporary sound design; a seamless blend where tradition meets technological evolution. Across nine distinct compositions, Paradox Obscur craft a soundscape that is as unpredictable as it is immersive. While digital synthesisers form the connective tissue of the album, the duo elevate their sound through the integration of live instrumentation and real-time composition techniques, lending each track a sense of immediacy and organic flow.
Notably, the song ‘Like A Freak’ diverges from the digital palette. Having been composed entirely using analog gear, it offers a raw and visceral counterpoint within the album’s framework.

Three singles have been issued ahead of ‘IKONA’, beginning with a cover version of the dance anthem ‘Lose This Feeling’ VIDEO by Armin van Buuren reinterpreted in a dreamily nostalgic synth-oriented style. This was followed by the compelling retro synthwave soundscape ‘Switch To Love’ VIDEO, then most recently the ‘90s inspired electro-techno of the haunting ‘Vulgar Sequence’ VIDEO.
