As ever, the signature powerful and captivating vocals of Kriistal Ann dominate the mix.
Lyrically, ‘Vulgar Sequence’ explores the toxic dynamics of addiction, domination and idolised manipulation – psychological traps that distort freedom and identity, particularly through gaslighting and emotional control. “We need to cultivate a healthy ego and remain aware,” state the duo. “Knowledge builds an impenetrable personality, one that is difficult to manipulate. Freedom is the supreme right, but it must be won from within.”
Directed by Italian filmmaker Simone Pellegrini, a video for ‘Vulgar Sequence’ perfectly captures the unsettling theme of the song. Set in a single claustrophobic room – a metaphor for the prison of the mind – it features broken-screen imagery and intense moments of fear.
