May 19th, 2025 – Cyberpunk artist, AFFECT EFFECT recently announced the release of their full-length album, Friday Night Firefight.
The newest album- Friday Night Firefight– is a culmination of the years AFFECT EFFECT has spent finding its sound and identity. It was greatly inspired by a four-year-long cyberpunk tabletop RPG campaign that AFFECT EFFECT founder, Tal Kilger ran, immersing himself in the world and drawing inspiration sometimes even to write songs for the game itself. The album ranges from moody mid-tempo bass tracks to pulse-pounding big beat action tracks.
Rounding up the entries are three covers of favorite songs from the soundtrack to Cyberpunk 2077 that pay tribute as well as push to new, louder, darker and heavier levels some of the tracks that inspired the sound of the album and the world it takes place within.
Friday Night Firefight‘s tone and sound aim to invoke the high energy and rebelliousness of the high-tech lowlifes fighting back against their corporate oppressors. Cyberpunk anthems like the track “Edgerunner”, immerse the listener in cyberspace while hacking the mainframe in tracks “Netrunner” and “Black ICE”, or pump them up for high-octane car chases and shootouts with songs like “Crash + Burn” and “Saturday Night Shootout”.
Friday Night Firefight is available on all major digital platforms worldwide including Spotify and Bandcamp.

AFFECT EFFECT is a multi-genre electronic music project heavily inspired by 90s-era cyberpunk films and media created in 2018 by producer Tal Kliger, who is better known for his industrial metal project NUCLEAR SUN as well as being the founder of the artist collective, Machine Music United. The project started as an experiment in school for Tal to learn new software and techniques and put them to use, but quickly became the focus of his love for all things cyberpunk and darker, more gritty electronic music and heavy beats.
