LOS ANGELES, CA — After decades in the trenches of the rock and metal world, acclaimed guitarist and songwriter Dan Sindel steps into the spotlight with the release of his first solo single “Ambition,” out today, April 3rd. The high-energy, emotionally charged track is the lead single from his forthcoming EP, THEY ONLY LOVE YOU WHEN YOU’RE WINNING, signaling a powerful new chapter in his storied career.

Sindel has been a fixture in the Los Angeles metal scene since the early ’80s, sharing stages with iconic bands like ACCEPT, SAXON, KING DIAMOND, WENDY O. WILLIAMS, RACER X, ARMORED SAINT, FLOTSAM & JETSAM, HELMET, GRIM REAPER, and METAL CHURCH.
Now, as a solo artist, he is breaking new ground while holding onto his roots.
A pivotal moment in Sindel’s career came when he appeared on 95.5 KLOS – Heidi and Frank Show’s “STAY OR GO” Contest on May 17, 2024. Two tracks from his debut solo EP, “Unpopular Music for Popular People Vol. 1” — “Stepping Stone” and “All Due Respect” — were featured on the show. Listeners voted, and Dan earned a coveted “STAY” from the 95.5 KLOS Los Angeles audience — a significant honor from one of LA’s premier rock radio stations.
“In 2012, everything came to a screeching halt when I had a near-death experience with almost stage 4 tongue cancer,” Sindel shares. “It took years of speech and hand therapy to regain my ability to talk and play guitar. During that time, I vowed to fight my way back to health and return to the stage where I belong. My passion for music and performing runs deeper than most.”
To bring AMBITION to life, Dan teamed up with renowned producer and mixer Danny Saber. Known for his work with legends like U2, David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Michael Hutchence, and The Rolling Stones, Saber’s production helped shape a vibrant and polished sound that’s sure to captivate listeners.
Critics and fans are taking notice. Sindel’s influences range from Led Zeppelin, ELP, Yes, Deep Purple, and Genesis to Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and The Who. Drawing from classic rock, metal, and modern trends, his sound blends vintage energy with contemporary flair.
