A relentless storm of sound erupts as Sálezianos, the Australian powerhouse of blackened, avant-garde metal, unveils their highly anticipated music video for “Temet Nosce”. Directed by Sam Tan and Vicente Cordero, the video brings to life the band’s genre-defying, boundary-pushing sound, capturing the chaos and catharsis at the core of their artistry.
Fusing elements of blackened, progressive, and gothic metal with Latin and Middle Eastern influences, “Temet Nosce” is an epic wall of sound that delivers both brutality and melody in equal measure. The track is a testament to Sálezianos’ relentless creativity—an evolution from their previous works that cements them as a game-changing force in the modern metal landscape.
A Journey Through Darkness and Catharsis
Guitarist Daniel Phillip East perfectly encapsulates the band’s ethos:
“The darkest depths of despair yield the most captivating art. For those who haven’t been there, it is intriguing and fascinating. For those who have; catharsis.”
That sentiment is fully realized in “Temet Nosce”, a track that press and fans alike have hailed as:
“Flawless… epic… insanely heavy… on another level… a journey… a perfect coming together of genres… menacing, melodic, and dynamic.”
Inspired by legendary acts such as Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah, Pantera, Sepultura, Opeth, Mayhem, Type O Negative, Immortal, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, Sálezianos masterfully weaves extreme technical precision with unrelenting emotional depth.
About Sálezianos
Sálezianos was born from the creative collision of two visionary musicians. Nick Parkinson, drummer of blackened death metal act Larry Leadfoot, relocated from Sydney to Melbourne in 2019 and soon joined forces with Daniel Phillip East (formerly of psychestral rock outfit Artist Proof). Their first jam session sparked an instant creative chemistry, setting them on a path of relentless songwriting and intense live performances.
Under the Larry Leadfoot moniker, they played multiple shows and released their debut EP Hellxotica in 2021, followed by “Sins and All: Live in Hellbourne”, a raw and blistering live album. Recognizing their musical evolution, they rebranded as Sálezianos, and with the addition of vocalist Henry Derek Elis, they are now forging a new era of extreme metal.
