France’s 1st notable death metal band, LOUDBLAST, are back with their 9th album(1st since 2020’s Manifesto) titled “Altering Fates And Destinies” on Listenable Records. And 39 years into their career, they are still kicking ass.
From opening track “From Beyond II(The Return)” to closing bonus track “Forbidden Pleasure”, the 13 tracks on this version(3 bonus tracks) NEVER let up. Featuring founding member, guitarist and vocalist Stéphane Buriez, the band does well keeping their old school sound alive, but updating it enough to still sound modern.
Standout tracks are opening track “From Beyond II(The Return), which is a sequel to “From Beyond” off their 1989 debut album ‘Sensorial Treatment’, track 4 “Miserable Failure”, track 6 “Sons Of Nameless Mist”, track 8 “Inhale The Void”, track 12 “The Path To The End” and track #13 “Forbidden Pleasure”, the last 2 which are bonus tracks. If you are into old school death metal, that doesn’t sound forced or phoned in, THIS IS YOUR ALBUM.
