Boston indie rock veteran The Sheila Divine (aka Aaron Perrino) is back with a bang, unveiling the latest single, “Satan Got My Soul.” Known for their emotive sound and powerful live performances, The Sheila Divine has delivered a track that is both dark and propulsive with searing guitars, now available on all major streaming platforms.
Part of the upcoming concept album, I AM THE DARKNESS, WE ARE THE LIGHT, “Satan Got My Soul” drives into the heart of the theme. The feelings of inner turmoil and the age-old battle between good and evil plays to the album’s dark sound and topics. “Satan got my soul is your classic rock number. dirty and grimy tones and Notes with throwbacks to black rebel motorcycle club this tune has all the evil rips and vibes that you don’t always hear in The Sheila Divine, but that has been instrumental to and inspiration for a lot of my songs. We tried a lot of different versions of this song some that included horns some that included slide guitars but in the end it kind of felt fun to just have it rock and feel like something off of exile on Main Street.”
In true The Sheila Divine fashion, the release of the single will soon be accompanied by a visually striking music video. Of the video Perrino says “We wanted it to have a 70s summer warm vibe with elements of being possessed. We wanted that key moment in the freedom of a child to just dance and be uninhibited. We shot it at midnight and during the haze of Canadian wildfires to give it a bit more of an apocalyptic tone. The is simple and honest as the music real raw and fun and spirited. Also we saw a Gremlin on cinder blocks and decided to rock out In front of it.”
Adding to the excitement, The Sheila Divine will bring his live show to Deep Cuts in Medford, MA, on August 30th. This performance promises to be a memorable night, featuring a selection of fan favorites. Tickets are on sale now (HERE) and are expected to sell out quickly, so fans are encouraged to grab theirs soon.
