Celebrating five years since the release of their storming ‘This Will Kill That’ debut, The Joy
Thieves, the Chicago-based supergroup that features members of Ministry, Stabbing
Westward, The Skatenigs and so many more, unleash their brand new EP, ‘Return to Needle
Park’.
The radio-friendly (and dance floor filling) ‘Digging Deeper’ is the lead track, a song penned
by Joy Thieves founder Dan Milligan and longtime friend Dave Bachta many years back for
their Lovelies Bleeding project. Following his untimely passing, The Joy Thieves recorded
their take on the track as a special tribute to Bachta, featuring another of his old friends,
Matthew Lee Clark, on vocals.
A pulverising cover of Killing Joke’s pneumatic ‘Loose Cannon’ (featuring James Scott on
vocals and Marcus Eliopulos of Stabbing Westward / Black Cross Hotel on guitar) threatens
to destroy your speakers before two remixes of previous single ‘Spilt Milk’ by the ubertalented Steven OLaf bring the EP to a close.
‘Return To Needle Park’ is out now. The new Joy Thieves album, ‘Spilt Milk’, is released on 28 June. Dan Milligan, joined by assorted random Thieves.
