Friday night between 5P and 6P after Phyllis got up from her nap
I had been looking forward to round 2 with Phyllis for 2 weeks and the day had come that she had to be downtown for a dentist appointment and would come to Casa Diablo after where she would earn a new pet name “Pumpkin Puss.”
What is the meaning of pumpkin puss?
It is a cute term of endearment. Pumpkin is a type of squash (a vegetable) and “puss” is an idiom or slang for a cat. So “pumpkin puss” doesn’t really mean anything specific. The character could have said “sweetheart” or “darling” and it means about the same thing.

So obviously when became 5 PM I woke Phyllis from her nap to begin dinner crab cakes on English muffins with french fries as a side. I put the Lester puppet in bed with her hoping it’d scare her but it did not.
Lester ventriloquist doll is the best buddy of one of the most famous American ventriloquists, Willie Tyler. In fact, the bond between the two is so unbreakable that the comedian, actor and performer is credited as “Willie Tyler & Lester” most of the time.
Alongside with his beloved Lester doll, Tyler appeared in a myriad of TV commercials, movies and comedy shows. The first big success came to the artist in 1972 on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. Despite being on stage for quite a while, Willie Tyler and his Lester ventriloquist doll are still incredibly popular – for instance, in 2006 the duo appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman’s Ventriloquist Week.
After we ate I made some margaritas and I put on “Upon a Time in Hollywood” which she had never seen and being a Tarantino film I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched it. SHe wasn’t expecting a 3 hour epic but we took breaks and it was fun. And a tub of popcorn with Jalapeno salt was in order. That little woman can eat. She actually arrived with food before her nap.

Saturday the new Ace Frehley cd arrived and I really liked it despite the lack of real rockers on it. Its kinda comparable to LA GUNS “Black Diamonds” release. A good rock record with no real hard rockers.
And now that I’ve decided that I have no choice but to stay in Chicago for the foreseeable future. I’m getting a little bar for the porch and a new griddle gas grill. I’m going to make the best of it.
Got the artwork last night for Dave McAnally’s acoustic show at the Brig next month. We’ll knock out a podcast and then promote the show in person the Sunday before during their St Patrick Days party/event

Friday morning I leave at 530 AM to head to the Detroit Metro area for Detroit Jason’s 50th birthday. What can I say the guy has spent the last 3 or 4 of my birthdays here with me. Next December is New Orleans with the Unusual Suspects.
