It was mere minutes after Greg Duncan walked out of the back of the flat that my very good friend and producer Mark Williams and Kyle Eroche from New Orleans arrived walking into the front and met me where I was finishing up post production of the days podcast. They had just met with Martin Atkins and were hungry. As a “rite of passage” and having a newbie with us we walked around to El Palmar. Mark has been here with me many times since I moved to Buena Park in 2005. It wasn’t quite busy yet as dinner time was approaching. By the time we had been served the restaurant was full of families as it usually is on weekend afternoons. The visit was brief as they were in town due to Chicago’s proximity to Ft. Wayne Indiana where Sweetwater Music is headquartered. This was a business trip for them. Even though I miss my friend and wish he had more time to spend here with me.

This should go without saying but i am sickened by what I’m seeing here in our country and the thousands of people and Ivy League School students supporting terrorists and murderers. I’m torn inside and my thoughts are (as they are always) with my Jewish friends. I am watching this unfold on social media and in the news like it’s perfectly acceptable. NO IT IS NOT PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE.
A reminder, everything happening in Gaza right now is happening because 24 days ago Hamas CHOSE to torture, butcher, stab, shoot, behead, slaughter, blow up, rape, terrorize, kill, burn to death, and kidnap 1,400 Israeli men, women, & children. Hamas CHOSE to do that. What’s happening in Gaza right now is on Hamas.
‘I didn’t leave the Democratic party, the Democratic Party left me.’ And I’m not the only one that feels this way.
The Democrat Party left ME when it embraced left-wing radicalism, lawlessness, and put the interests of illegal aliens over the interest of Americans. – Rep. Mesha Mainor Doctoral Student, MPT GA House of Representatives – District 56.
My personal hell: USPS Uptown Post Office 4850 N Broadway St, Chicago
Jonathan Franzen, a nationally-known author, has criticized the Uptown post office. In his 2002 book “How To Be Alone: Essays,” he writes:
Many of the problems at a station like Uptown — rampant absenteeism, rapid turnover of employees, poor morale — are aggravated by its distance from the black South Side neighborhoods where more postal workers live. Workers with tenure quickly transfer to more convenient neighborhoods. The same is true of supervisors and managers, who have been known to refer to Uptown as Siberia. The result is a perpetually inexperienced North Side workforce.
It was Wednesday November 1st and I took a walk up to the Uptown post office which I dread. i also dread the Lakeview post office visits. My mail service and delivery has been one nightmare after another. I’ve taken it all the way up to the Postmaster General in Washington DC and ya know what happened? My post office mail deliverer stopped delivering mail to me altogether after my complaint. I stopped using the UPS Store becasue that was an expense no longer worth it since I’m not getting a hundred parcels a week from record labels and movie studios. I could go on and on…I needed to send my final quarterly payment to the IRS, who now in their ultimate wisdom, estimate what they predict I will earn in a year and I pay every quarter. For the first time in 6 years I’ve for better or worse reached the light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. This payment wasn’t due till Jan 15 2024. This is the first time I got a jump on it. I’ll earn less than I did in 2022 and I made less in 2022 that I did in 2020 or 2021 but somehow had to pay more in Federal and State taxes. The point is I got it out of the way and it felt good. I also got a lot of online Christmas shopping taken care of and ordered around 100 funny holiday cards. For my employers who are Jewish I had to special order cards but I hope they find them humorous. They have pretty good sense of humor and have kept me around so……
Being in such a good mood with the air cool and crisp I walked up to Argyle and stopped into Ba Le Sandwiches and picked up a shrimp and papaya salad and 3 Shrimp Salad Rolls. I browsed Hong Kong Mart where I’ve never been and over to Tai Nam and for the first time bought ramen with Yellow Curry, I’ve never had before as well as some Hi Chew candy. The next bus close to home would be coming in 8 minutes and I didn’t feel like waiting so I took the walk back home stopping at Aldi along the way which was just about out of everything, or at least anything that I needed. The next night I had the yellow curry and it blew my mind. My friends online wasted no time in commenting on my discovery. Xtine from Arizona sent me her recipe. I miss her. The last Thanksgiving dinner I made was in 2018 and was just her and I. It was very good. I started my job where I am still now a few days later. She moved to the Arizona desert.
Saturday would be spent meeting with Larry who hand delivered 6 packets of edibles for me to help in my sleep at cost. He is a good friend and makes no profit from me Thanks to him I will sleep well for the next 2 months, some grocery shopping and gift gathering. I got a lot done around the house but the deliveries and boxes kept coming. I have boxes all over my flat. I got a lot of this website updated and started watching an Australian TV series called Mr. In Between that my brother and Wheelchair JSIN have been pestering me to watch for years. I’m finishing it as of this writing.
Set within the suburbs of Sydney, Raymond “Ray” Shoesmith (Scott Ryan) is a hitman for hire who makes a life out of balancing his criminal activities with his obligations to friends and family. He tries to be a father to Brittany (Chika Yasumura), his daughter with his ex-wife, Jacinta (Natalie Tran), a loving boyfriend to Ally (Brooke Satchwell), and a good caretaker to his terminally ill brother Bruce (Nicholas Cassim). Ray also covers for his friend Gary (Justin Rosniak) when needed, and follows orders from his boss Freddy (Damon Herriman) without question. Ray deals with criminals and monsters in his own violent way; this behaviour, however, starts to take its toll and affects his relationships.
Wrigleyville finally got a Culver’s. 1111 W Addison St Chicago, IL
So I walked up to Wrigleyville to eat at Culver’s. I used my free custard token and had their custard for the first time. It’s pretty damned amazing. Then I was going to hit upa Mariano’s and being in Wrigleyville I had a choice of three. The Clark St bus wouldn’t come for 18 minutes and another was right behind it at 19 minutes. What’s the fucking point?, so I walked and nearly got on the Red Line to take it to Edgewater for the Mariano’s on Foster where I usually go, but opted to walk to the store in Lakeview. I haven’t had to deal with Lakeview people in a long time and forgot about how rude they tend to be and how they lack in the simplest of manners. The experience wasn’t enjoyable but what I saw on the way there made my heart rate surge. You can see the image below and if you’ve made it this far it needs no explanation.
I’m in Boystown. Progressive city of Chicago where they support terrorists and tear down pictures of kidnapped Americans in Isreal. How nice.
Also nice is what our newly elected Mayor Brandon Johnson is doing to this city. I hope he has many photo ops to represent his one term legacy. I never ever thought it’d be any worse here than it was with Lightfoot. Crime goes unaddressed and it’s out of control here.
19th District CPD in Lakeview. Thanks BJ.
November is looking to be exciting and more of getting back to my way of life again. I see the movie Priscilla next Saturday with Amy and then Faster Pussycat the next day at the Arcada, and again the following Friday in Joliet. My first Thanksgiving dinner here since 2018 the 23rd and seeing Lydia Loveless the 24th at the Empty Bottle.
Friends arrive from Detroit and Indianapolis Dec 14th and we do the MK ULTRA show at Live Wire that evening with 616 and Derision Cult. And the next morning four of us, Myself, Max, Detroit Jason and Josh leave for New Glarus on the 15th for a long birthday weekend.
I have some very good friends who have been there for me during this stretch. This holiday I will be showing my appreciation. Thank you.
