Seattle WA – Joe Reineke and Karyn Gold-Reineke of Society of the Silver Cross return with the second volume of Temple Hymns, their ongoing collaborative series, this time joined by Luke Tromiczak of American dark folk project Blood and Sun. Each new volume of Temple Hymns spotlights a different artist they’ve joined forces with at their bespoke Seattle, WA studio, Temple of the Trees. The series continues to explore the creative possibilities that emerge when artists come together, blending individual voices into something entirely new.
Tromiczak has led Blood and Sun since 2011, releasing multiple albums and touring internationally. His deep baritone has made him one of the more recognizable voices in neofolk music. He and the band first met through a mutual friend while he was passing through Seattle, and he returned months later for a week of writing and recording together.
Their efforts resulted in two songs, “Unraveled” and “Battle Hands” releasing Monday, September 21, 2026.
Society of the Silver Cross is known for their heavy, Gothic, cinematic music that blends the traditions of India with the darker edges of American folk. Rolling Stone, SPIN, UNCUT, Metal Injection and Brooklyn Vegan have all sung their praises as equally haunting and spellbinding.
