with your host Alex Zander
“FREE BEER TOMORROW” is a documentary film that tells the story of Jack’s/Summit Station – Ohio’s longest running lesbian bar. With interviews from Peter Brown – a classically trained musician turned bar owner – to pioneering LGBTQ+ lawyer and legal scholar, Rhonda R. Rivera, and former patrons running the gamut of tap dancers, professional women’s football players, feminist activists, bartenders and drag kings, the film explores lesbian culture in an era where bars were one of the few safe-havens from an oppressive and homophobic world.”
Summit Station was an employer of MK ULTRA’s Alex Zander in the late 80’s thru the early 90s at Summit Station where he was a DJ. Long after AZ moved away from central Ohio they stayed in touch and AZ would regularly visit whenever he was travelling through or in town for an event which was often especially in the late 1990’s.
The Free Beer Tomorrow Screening took place on Saturday, September 19, 2026 as part of the Reeling 44 film festival in Chicago at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema in Chicago, IL (part of EverOut Chicago).
