Cheap Trick Proves The Show Must Go On At RiverEdge Park After Brief Health Scare On Stage

Get well Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick!

On Thursday night, Cheap Trick was performing at Riveredge in Aurora and guitarist Rick Nielsen, 77, reportedly experienced a health-related issue while on stage.

The band briefly stopped the show. According to a report from prominent podcaster, Mike Brunn of The Rock Experience:

“Cheap Trick was performing at Riveredge Park in Aurora, Illinois, when the band abruptly stopped their show due to Nielsen, 77, “having a hard time breathing.”

The good news is that Nielsen did return to the stage approximately 10 minutes later and continued his performance while seated in a chair. However, he did leave the stage while performing the song “Dream Police,” but returned later to complete the set.

No word on me exact details of the health concern. Cheap Trick, of course, hails from Rockford, Illinois and achieved international fame in the 1970s.
