Obsession is a true horror film in every sense of the word—dark, deeply unsettling, and thoroughly disturbing. The narrative strips away the typical romanticizing of unrequited love to focus entirely on the consequences of selfish desire with catastrophic results. The premise is deceptively simple: a young guy uses a novelty “wish willow” to make the close friend he’s been crushing on fall in love with him. But once the wish is granted, the dynamic quickly spirals into a claustrophobic nightmare. Delivering a masterclass in slow-burn tension, the film builds deliberately toward a powerful, devastating payoff. Definitely not a feel good movie, but a great movie that’s easily one of the best horror movies of 2026.
