Athens, Greece — nou (pronounced NOO) returns with his new single “Ding Dang Dong”, one of his most rhythm-driven and dance-oriented tracks to date, marking a key moment in the creative direction of his upcoming EP Digital Burger (out June 26th on Panik Records), where experimentation meets accessibility and alternative pop sensibilities.
“Ding Dang Dong” was the very first track written for the project, acting as the starting point for nou’s exploration into a more electronic sound, driven by synthesizers and beat-focused composition. With clear influences from the aesthetic and groove of Gorillaz, the track leans into a dancy, reggae-inspired feel, blending laid-back rhythms with a modern electronic edge and a distinctive atmosphere.
The track was primarily written by nou and later developed and completed in collaboration with Nikkolas Dashy, who also handled the production, shaping its final sonic identity. Lyrics were written by Artemis Baltoyanni, continuing her ongoing creative collaboration and contribution to nou’s discography. Lyrically,
“Ding Dang Dong” plays out like a dystopian carnival — a warped merry-go-round of seduction, performance, and excess, where flirtation turns theatrical and pleasure borders on the absurd. A defining moment behind the track’s creation was the day it was written, when an unusual atmospheric phenomenon in the sky created a surrealist visual that directly influenced the mood and energy of the song.
nou is an electro-industrial artist based in Athens, blending high-energy live performances with electronic-driven production. Formerly known as The Page of Cups, nou is moving forward under a new name that reflects a clearer artistic identity and a stronger shift toward synth-based sounds, rhythmic intensity, and hybrid composition.
His sound moves between distorted guitars, driving rhythms, layers of synthesizers, and immersive samples, creating a balance between the raw energy of a band and the experimentation of electronic music.
While the creative process is increasingly focused on electronic composition, nou’s live shows remain intense and immersive, featuring a full band setup with an emphasis on collective on-stage energy — a key element of the project’s identity.
