A pleasant surprise of a film that was much more than I expected. I loved the entire flick.
The Housemaid is a 2025 American erotic psychological thriller film directed by Paul Feig and written by Rebecca Sonnenshine. It is based on the 2022 novel by Freida McFadden, and stars Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, and Brandon Sklenar. In the film, Millie Calloway, a young woman with a troubled past, becomes the live-in maid for a wealthy family whose household hides dark secrets.

The Cocks are a SoCal-based glam-punk band celebrated for their chaotic, filthy, and high-energy music, blending Ramones-style hooks with queer, unapologetic themes. Emerging from a “happy accident,” the band focuses on creating, fun, and fast-paced punk rock rather than preachy, politically-driven queer narratives.
Thursday morning it was a nice star of the day so I went ahead and set up the back porch prior to heading north to Max’s to do my laundry. At 11 AM rainstorm came out of nowhere and not predicted by the local weather forecast. But it wasn’t windy so it was all good. I left at noon and just after arriving at the Bravo home it was thunder and lightning and torrential rain. By the time I got home around 330 PM it was soaked and I had to dry much of the décor overnight and into the next day.

The end of Buena Ave going under LSD thru Peace Garden
The Peace Garden contains 0.3 acres of native plantings within Lincoln Park, in the Buena Park neighborhood. In the mid-1980s, the Chicago Park District worked with Greenpeace Great Lakes and members of the Uptown community to renovate an existing rock garden and install native plants.
This tranquil garden provides a respite for bikers, joggers, and walkers along the Lakefront Trail.
At the eastern end of Montrose Beach is Montrose Pier which extends out into the lake and ends with fishhook shape. There 2 tall towers on the pier have lights and foghorns to warn and alert vessels on the lake.
The orientation of the pier has been specifically designed to capture sand being transported south along the shoreline. The most common orientation for storm wave approach is from the northeast. The Montrose Pier, unlike an offshore breakwater, allows these waves to crash against the shore, but the energy of the waves stays on the beach, and keeps the sand on the beach from migrating southward. On the east side of the Montrose Pier there is no buildup of sand. For more than a mile to the south of the Montrose Peninsula, there is also no sand along the shore. It has been transported by long-shore currents to a set of groins that were constructed off Fullerton and North Avenue Beaches.
To construct the pier pilings about 16 feet apart were driven into the lake bed, fill was added and 10-square-foot limestone blocks were added. Over the years erosion and weathering turned them into a jumble of uneven stones. After World War II the park district renovated the pier. They encased it entirely in concrete and put in a center chain handrail.

Near Belmont Harbor Friday 4/17 I got on Bike O Negative minutes before noon intent on taking full advantage of the afternoon and what the lakeshore has to offer. Sections were still muddy due to a very rainy week. Montrose Beach and the Dock were being tended to and cleaned for opening very soon. I noticed new dunes being created and the extension of the protected Piping Plovers area.
South of the recreational beach a natural area attracts many migratory birds during the fall and spring seasons. A serene dune habitat has a rare panne habitat and endangered plant life thrives at this location.
