Well, I woke up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn’t hurt. And the beer I had for breakfast wasn’t bad. So I had one more for dessert.

Dense fog and patchy drizzle are causing travel issues across Chicagoland this morning under a fog advisory

As usual the weather of the Chicago spring is “moody” and varies from day to day and at times hour to hour.

Since Wild West Town is closed and Melita will never get to see it.

TURA! is the authorized documentary on Asian American cinema pioneer Tura Satana, star of the Russ Meyer classic Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!. Narrated by Margaret Cho and featuring interviews with John Waters, Dita Von Teese, Pamela Des Barres and more, TURA! is a thrilling, heartfelt look into the life of a woman who beat all the odds to become a burlesque superstar, cult movie icon, and enduring role model for female empowerment whose life and body of work continue to impact the world today. Tura created a look, style, and attitude that have influenced virtually all aspects of modern film, music, art and fashion. She was the first female Asian American bad ass in a Hollywood leading role. Homages to Tura are everywhere, from Madonna videos & Rob Zombie songs to Quentin Tarantino and Pee Wee Herman films. Popular television shows like Ringer and Riverdale have taken cues from Tura. She is a feminist & LGBTQ icon who smashed all the glass ceilings, paving the way for every leading female action star in Hollywood today.

I was happy to finally meet her prior but not long before Tura passed away when I sponsored bringing “Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” to the Music Box Theater  Wednesday October 27 2008. I had the mk ultraviXXXens merch booth set up directly across from her. She signed my big theater poster for the film. The downside was that my girlfriend at the time Holly who was supposed to take photos of the event for me had forgotten to charge her camera batteries that day thus it was upsetting to me that I have no images of our meeting.

ANOTHER FRIDAY THE 13TH ALREADY THIS YEAR?

On a very very windy Friday the 13th (3/13/2026) I made a visit to the Feldo office in Rosemont for a potential position. I was very impressed with the location as well as the layout of the offices.

Gusty winds cause power outages, semi rollovers and blowing debris across Chicago and Northwest Indiana: Wind gusts at O’Hare and Midway airports peaked above 50 mph, the National Weather Service said.

The severe wind came after a week of weather that swung from one extreme to the next. Monday’s record-setting high of 73 degrees at O’Hare Airport came before chillier temperatures Tuesday. Temperatures then rose again Tuesday night as tornadoes swept the area south of the city leaving giant hail stones in its wake.

Friday’s gusts, nearing 60 mph, caused disruptions across the city, from power outages to travel delays. There was a brief ground stop at O’Hare, which expired about 7:15 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. A high wind warning was in effect for the Chicago area until 4 p.m. as forecasters anticipated gusts surpassing 60 mph.

By Friday night, ComEd was reporting about 1,200 outages. That’s down from more than 30,000 outages earlier in the day, largely centered on the North Side and in the northwest suburbs.

Violent winds tore a huge chunk of the roof off a high school in Niles on Friday morning just before students were scheduled to arrive for the day.

Shortly after 7 a.m., powerful winds ripped part of the roof off Charles H. Walsh Senior Academy and Career Tech High School, located off Touhy Avenue in Niles.

I woke up to sad news on Saturday morning that Phil Campbell had passed away. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen MOTORHEAD but they have no doubt been a stale of my sonic diet. Just a week ago I was showing Melita my concert list and noted how many times MOTORHEAD hae appeared on its pages documenting 1979-2026. The first person I sent a text to was Bob Newbomb Turk Hoeksema.

The river will be dyed, the parades will march and the bars will be at full vomit-inducing capacity. Additionally, the weather is somewhat agreeable to both drunken revelers and subsequent walks of shame while doing little to prevent the usual nonsense elsewhere around town.

2:53:54 PM CDT Police have received a report of three women urinating in an alley.

CTA

Two people were hospitalized after a stabbing in a CTA station in Chicago’s Loop on Saturday evening, just hours after thousands were downtown for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Around 8 p.m., after an earlier physical fight with a woman on the CTA platform at the Clark/Lake station, a 43-year-old woman and 23-year-old woman boarded a train. The woman also boarded the train and a second fight began, during which the 42-year-old and 23-year-old women were both stabbed in their arm and hand, the Chicago Fire Department said.

The two women who were stabbed were taken to a local hospital, CFD said. They are both listed in good condition. The woman who stabbed them was taken into custody, authorities said. The investigation remains ongoing.

‘BORGS’ Invade Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, Leaving Streets Lined With Empty Jugs

SOURCE: blockclubchicago.org with edits

The colorful jugs of jungle juice — whose name stands for “black-out rage gallon” — are now as omnipresent as green beer and leprechaun costumes at Chicago’s St. Paddy’s Day festivities.

A new St. Paddy’s Day tradition has emerged in Chicago, and it left Downtown littered with empty plastic jugs piled up near trashcans and curbsides.

Every year on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day, thousands descend on Downtown in their best green attire for the dyeing of the Chicago River, the St. Patrick’s Day parade and the associated bar crawls and general debauchery.

But in recent years, revelers — particularly younger ones of questionable drinking age — have moved away from Guinness and whiskey in favor of the BORG, which is an acronym for “black-out rage gallon.”

Drinkers often write BORG-related puns in sharpie on the jugs, including ‘Arnold Borg-inator,’ ‘Pearl Harborg,’ ‘Spongeborg,’ and many, many more.

Chicago’s St. Patty’s Day celebrations have been the perfect breeding grounds for a full-blown BORG takeover this year.

Gen Z partiers were seen guzzling BORGs by the gallon Saturday, oftentimes tossing the empty – or half empty – jugs onto the sidewalk.

Some BORG jugs were also confiscated and emptied by police, video and photo from Saturday’s festivities show.

“I keep seeing them everywhere,” a bystander said in a viral video posted to social media, talking to a police officer who was pouring the remaining contents of a BORG through a grate into the Chicago river.

“We got kids drinking this and, I mean, we don’t know what’s in it,” the officer tells the bystander as he adds another emptied-out jug to over a dozen collected in the street.

There seems to be no signs of stopping BORG fever, however. BORG photos, videos and memes have caught fire over social media.

Videos of young people brawling in the streets of Downtown Saturday have also gone viral. It is unclear if there is correlation between the instances of fighting and the increased presence of BORGS Downtown Saturday. Chicago police on Sunday did not immediately provide a tally of arrests and citations connected to Saturday’s festivities.

Nor is it clear if the BORGS are now a public nuisance or remain a curiosity among Chicago residents.

“[Twenty-five] years ago I would do this with a CamelBack,” one Reddit user said on a thread about the prevalence of BORGS Downtown. “Zero trash left behind.”
