Friday January 23, 2026
When I got up and out of bed just after 6 AM this morning it was minus 6 degrees and its not even going up to zero degrees today. When I went grocery shopping yesterday it was very crowded and every register was open for once with long lines. I obviously wasn’t the only one stocking up. I spent just over $50 at ALDI and didn’t even fill up the seat portion of the shopping cart. Its expensive out there even at ALDI.
The job market and the economy really sucks right now.

Saturday day January 24, 2026
The frigid cold of Friday continued early Saturday, but with an every so slight warm-up, if you could call it that, as the day goes on.
Then, some lake-effect snow is in store for us later today and into Sunday morning.
Wind chills continued to range from the low teens into the mid-20s throughout the area to start your weekend. The actual wind gusts were only registering around 10 mph.
But it should get up to around 10 degrees in the city and near suburbs, although today’s high temps might only reach half that in the far-flung suburban areas.
The normal high for this time of year is around 31 degrees.
There is a lake effect band of snowfall that is expected to head our way later on Saturday night and into Sunday morning. The heaviest snowfall is expected near the lake. Between 2 and 6 inches of snow could fall.
A Winter Storm Advisory is in effect for cental and northern Cook County and Lake County starting at 6 p.m. tonight until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Watched a disturbing true crime movie Saturday morning that I’ve been wanting to see and have had saved in my Prime que for a long time.
Compliance is a 2012 American thriller film written and directed by Craig Zobel and starring Ann Dowd, Dreama Walker, Pat Healy, and Bill Camp. The plot of the movie is closely based upon the series of strip search phone call scams that took place in Mount Washington, Kentucky in 2004, although the names of the real-life figures were changed. In both the film and the real-life incident, a caller posing as a police officer convinced a restaurant manager and others to carry out unlawful and intrusive procedures on an innocent employee.
Compliance had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2012, and was distributed by Magnolia Pictures for its general release on August 17, 2012. Dowd’s performance as Sandra, the manager, won the National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress.

The strip search phone call scam was a series of incidents, mostly occurring in rural areas of the United States, that extended over a period of at least ten years, starting in 1994. The incidents involved a man calling a restaurant or grocery store, claiming to be a police officer, and then convincing managers to conduct strip searches of employees (or, in at least two known cases, a customer), and to perform other bizarre and humiliating acts on behalf of “the police”. The calls were most often made to fast-food restaurants in small towns.

Sunday day January 25, 2026
I’ve seen worse.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place from 6 p.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Sunday for much of Chicagoland. Lake effect snow is expected to continue into Sunday morning and early afternoon, becoming heavy at times. Some areas could see between one and five inches of accumulation.

Front shot from Casa Diablo Sunday morning 830AM

Sunday morning 830 I made my way up to the Target /CVS Pharmacy in Uptown to pick up my Rx at 9 AM. At 9 AM it wasn’t open so I went and bought some Franks Red Hot Buffalo sauce and eye drops then next door to Aldi for coffee. When I returned to the pharmacy it was finally open. was happy as I did not want to have to go back out Monday which will only be up to 10 degrees. Presently here in Chicago at 758 AM on Monday 1/26 its 2 degrees but at least its above zero. Its not even going to reach 32 degrees (freezing) all week.
I’ve been keeping busy all week uploading hundreds of photos from discos I found containing MK ULTRA Magazine images from 25 years ago. Its been an interesting journey.
