“Set out runnin’ but I take my time. A friend of the devil is a friend of mine. If I get home before daylight. Just might get some sleep tonight. Ran into the devil, babe, he loaned me twenty bills. Spent the night in Utah in a cave up in the hills.”

Tom T keeps cranking out AI Animated videos and songs regarding our days in Pittsburgh back in 1993/94 which were wild and untamed days. No rules. I was pretty much on a death trip till I started on MK ULTRA and at that time I stopped running with those guys and wouldn’t see Tom again till the early 2000’s when I discovered he also live in Chicago and in the same neighborhood as myself. We had a few wild adventures here before he relocated to LA but we were mostly professional in our chosen fields of expertise.

Birthday gift from the Unholy Roller Jason Harmon. Thank you.

When I posted this image on social media I got the exact reaction that I was hoping to trigger

Another TT creation

My boys

The entire day of 12/12 I was very busy working on several projects and I really had zero downtime as I tended to the ham and side dishes for dinner later that night. Melita seemed to have gotten off work early and brought along a nice bottle of wine. Max showed up a bit later with a short Jamo bottle for me and 12 pack of Miller Lite. We chatted as we ate and I put on the movie selection for the evening Planes Trains and Automobiles one of my all time faves full of memorable scenes and many quotable quotes. It was a nice chill evening with the cats taking center stage.

I busted out the suit for the first time in many years. Saturday morning I had some nice chill time alone and took calls from Kevin Finsley in TX and my brother Erik in central OH which was going to Pittsburgh to see the Steelers play on Monday. I told him where to find the store Eide’s so he can browse through classic HUSTLER back issues where they all sell for $5 despite the collectors value.

Eides is a Comic book store in a 3-story building also selling music, movies, and other collectibles. Founded 3/18/1972 as “Pittsburgh’s First Comix and Sci-Fi Shop”, Eide’s is one of the oldest comic shops in the U.S. After 30 years under the same ownership, Eide’s remains not only the best and largest comic shop in Pittsburgh, but also one of the premier comic shops in the world. Not content to be a world class comic shop, Eide’s became “Eide’s Comics and Records” in 1978 and quickly established itself as Pittsburgh’s hippest music store. By 1991 Eide’s had further mutated into “Eide’s Entertainment Superstore” which today, reigns as Pittsburgh’s finest comic shop, best music store, leading video sell-through only store and the hippest source for alternative press and cutting edge books and magazines.

I also had a nice talk with my friend Bill who is in upstate PA taking care of his mother and an old house. Its always great to speak with Bill who is my “common sense” connection.

Getting ready to head out to the play.

A huge thanks to Max Bravo for taking me out to the play at the Theater Wit, Schubas and Wrigleyville North for my birthday and for 2 dwarf bottles of Jamo. It made what would have been a depressing do nothing weekend into an actual event. Thank you my good friend.

CASA DIABLO

Our first destination SCHUBA’S

My inspiration

Schuba’s in Lincoln Park has an amazing deal $12 for a shot and a beer and its not just a Chicago handshake as they have several variations. That’s an excellent deal for Lincoln Park.

Who’s Holiday! at Theater Wit 1229 W Belmont, Chicago IL
By Matthew Lombardo Directed by Christopher Pazdernik

Our holiday hit returns for the fifth year running — Cindy Lou Who, now 40, holds court from her trailer home, retelling the story of the sordid events after she met the Grinch in this adult romp!
“Funny, moving Who’s Holiday! at Theater Wit is the Malört of holiday shows!” —Chicago Tribune
“Who’s Holiday! is the only show that should be on your roster this ultra-stacked holiday season.” —Third Coast Review
A Comedy with a twist of rhyme…
The tot from The Grinch has grown, you see.
She’s cursing and drinking. She’s super messy.
Her FIVE YEARS at Theater Wit have been nothing but trouble!
And this year, we fear
She’s gonna make it a DOUBLE!

starring Veronica Garza

Veronica returns in her Jeff-nominated performance as Cindy Lou Who for a fifth smash season! She received a previous Jeff Award for her role as both Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan’s mothers. Other roles include: Roz in 9 to 5 (Firebrand), Sister Amnesia in Nunsense (Milwaukee Rep), Babs in Miracle (Royal George), Prudie in Pump Boys and Dinettes (Theatre at the Center and Timberlake Playhouse), The Homeless Lady in A New Brain (Theo Ubique) Lucy in Charlie Brown Christmas (Broadway Playhouse) and the Fortune Teller in Sideshow (Porchlight).

The star of the “one woman show” Veronica Garza. She has an AMAZING singing voice.

If you know me you’ll know I was thrilled to see this. The lady even turned it on for m to take the photo.

We had a nightcap at Wrigleyville North and I went home at midnight and Max went north to two more bars and was out till 4AM and slept till 1330 AM almost missing the podcast Once hme I watched Landman.

Alex and Alex

Today I cashed in my Birthday Rewards at Jersey Mikes for their latest creation the “Mike’s Hot Italian” sub. And it was tasty.
The limited-time-only sub is loaded with grilled chopped ham, salami and pepperoni and covered in melted provolone, then topped with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and their signature hot chopped pepper relish.

In the middle of this week I’ll cash in my Birthday Rewards for Jimmy Johns and I already know what it will be. The Sicilian Pizza Sandwich: Bold, hearty, and packed with flavor. Enjoy layers of Salami, Capocollo, and Ham topped with melty Mozzarella and smothered in zesty Marinara Sauce.

“That was a terrific podcast! Honestly, that was probably the best, funniest most interesting all around podcast. I’ve ever listened to. Thanks for sending me the link.”

“Many laughs and loved the musical selections. Plus, it was just really easy to listen to. Everyone had nice voices and seemed like good friends. Like I said before, it was an all around great podcast. This was the first one of yours that I have heard.”

“Your turkey and pig stories were so gross. To think that I was actually vacillating over sending you some wagyu beef or not because it might not be kosher…”

  • Linda in Michigan

We shared a lot of funny stories on this podcast which was also filmed using 6 different cameras set up in Studio Diablo. Jessica is a great editor and a wonderful co host. The show ended with a very raunchy song that I play every year at the end of the holiday podcast.
