
“INFECTED” expresses a powerful mix of internal suffering, emotional numbness, societal disillusionment, and ultimately, a desperate plea for awakening and self liberation.
It’s about hitting rock bottom mentally and emotionally and realizing the need to rise, see the truth, and take back control from the forces internal or external that have taken over our lives.
As we put the music video together, I loved the characters inspired by John Carpenter’s “They Live” as a metaphor for the monster in each of us that can only be seen in glimpses and when you are aware of them.

Founded in 2016 by guitarist Ashten Banks, Remember the Monsters quickly garnered attention with their debut single “The Pieces Remain”, produced by Cameron Mizell (Memphis May Fire, Sleeping With Sirens). The band’s early years were marked by evolution and experimentation, including the release of 2019 singles “Sink” and “Close Encounters”, featuring vocalist Julian Comeau who later went on to form the acclaimed band Loveless.
Following a brief hiatus, Remember the Monsters returned in 2022 with renewed energy and a fresh creative direction. The lineup was solidified with the addition of powerhouse vocalist Andrew de Neef, formerly of Actual Villains and Close to Home (Razor & Tie Records / Artery Recordings). The group was completed in 2025 with the addition of drummer Elias Mallin know for his work with bands and artists like Filter, Noah Cyrus, Kesha & more.
To further shape their cinematic and genre-blending sound, Ashten collaborated with producer Matt Good, known for his work with Asking Alexandria, Hollywood Undead, and Sleeping With Sirens.
Since their return, Remember the Monsters have continued to push boundaries, releasing high-impact covers of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” and Taylor Swift’s “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me”, as well as a slew of original tracks including “Mercy” ft. NERV and “Haunted” ft. From First to Last.
Closing out 2024, they unveiled a cohesive EP tying these singles together, highlighted by the new track “Hostage” featuring solo artist and Asking Alexandria touring guitarist Paul Bartolome.
Looking ahead the band is poised to release their most aggressive and intense single & music video to date “INFECTED” which was co-written with former Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce.
Blending emotionally driven melodies with hard-hitting modern rock and cinematic flair, Remember the Monsters appeal to fans of Bad Omens, Falling in Reverse, Dayseeker, Architects, and Asking Alexandria.
