“Soy un hombre muy honesto que le gusta lo mejor. No me faltan mujeres, ni dinero, ni amor. Cabalgando en mi caballo, me voy por la sierra. Las estrellas y la luna, ellas me dicen dónde voy”.

Monday morning recap September 29, 2025: It was an extremely busy weekend that kicked off after my morning USPS trip and hour ride in Graceland Cemetery and I had enough time to clean up and start making a pizza for my friend Kyna Ganshert, Mike Ganshert’s eldest daughter who I last saw on my birthday weekend in 2023 at Toffler’s in their hometown of New Glarus.

The photos are out of order but I’ll do my best as always to put the events in perpective.

Saturday 9/27 as the Fifth Annual Buena Park Block Party! September 27, the Block Party was held 6PM to 10PM. It was the best one yet maybe because I took Max Bravo along as Melita was unable to attend due to other commitments. I didn’t have the $$$ to have my Mayor of North Kenmore shirt made but will have it done soon.

It was a pretty good time., I was recognized as the guy that wears an LA GUNS jacket. There was some good food and samples of beer, wine and bourbon. Max seemed to have really enjoyed it and claimed it was better than the one in his neighborhood.

Got a couplie of coupons for free margaritas at El Mariachi. I think I’ll cash them in next weekend.

Join us for Melita’s very first traditional American Thanksgiving. I will be baking the turkey bird and a few sides. Melita with be making a few Georgian dishes. This is a pitch in as always so please bring a covered dish and list below when you’ll be bringing as well as any beer, wine or spirits. Guest may arrive at noon and we’ll most likely carve the bird and sit down to eat around 2 PM.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone and entertainment and conversation will continue after the dinner into the evening.

September 25, 2025 Lake Willowmere is a Man-Made Oasis: The lake, along with Burnham Island, was created to foster a picturesque and naturalistic landscape, contributing to the cemetery’s beauty and historical significance. The island within the lake is the final resting place of Daniel Burnham, the architect and planner known for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition and the Plan of Chicago.

I had some downtime the week before starting the new job s I gutted my bedroom to clean under the bed and other furnishings and put it back together all neat and tidy.

Friday 9/26 Kyna Ganshert was coming by to hang for a bit. She brought some of New Glarus’s finest and I made my finest pizza creation to date. It was nice to get caught up and after we walked to Output so she could meet Melita.

Step by step. I was amazed at how good this one turned out. LOADS OF CHEESE!

This was the first time I had seen Ashley in a year at Output Wrigleyville

Early morning 9/27 on my way to Skokie to meet Ellen The Felon at Kaufmans and to drop off a cassette tape made for me in the late 80’s by Liz Ubel from our college radio days. Research for the podcast Oct 12

Ellen also found more Half Sour pickles for me

The New Jersey Bypass from Kaufman’s Bagel & Delicatessen in Skokie, IL. A double decker monster of regular Corned Beef & regular Pastrami on Rye. One of the best sammis I have ever had. This is my third.

For the 2 most recent podcasts The P.M.R.C.’s ‘Filthy 15’ at Forty Parts 1 and 2 I dug deep into my archives for my grass roots organization that I started during my freshman year of college The Right to Rock. Both episodes turned out to be a lot of fun.

My second day or training of my new work gig. I started biking in again and LOVE IT! We really lucked out on weather, The job bought lunch for my co worker and I each day but Thursday. By the end of the week after 5 days of exhaustive training I was wiped out. Spent most of teh day Saturday in bed after Greg Duncan left from tuning up my bike, I was mentally and physically drained.

My parking for BIKE O NEGATIVE in from of the west loop office.

Wrapping up week one and winding down with margaritas, black cats and red light
