Talkin’ jivin’ poison ivy. You ain’t gonna cling to me. Man taker, bone faker. I ain’t so blind I can’t see.

9/11/2025 Josh got into Chicago yesterday to work a trade show at McCormick Place and we were hoping to hang on the back porch with cigars and whiskey. He got really busy as he tends to do. He called last night and asked if I’d be up for breakfast this morning, of course I was. We decided to meet at Gay iHOP in Boystown. When I biked over there were no cars in the lot and no customers inside. I sent him a text that it was shut down. As I was about to peddle away over to the Breakfast Coffee House and Bar I peeked inside curiously and saw a cook. At that moment Josh pulled up n his big fucking truck. It was great to see him and we were the only customers at tis OPEN 24 Hours restaurant and it was no wonder. One of the empty tables was not cleaned and the coffee was gawd awful. It had to have been out all night. We were served coffee immediately in a dead restaurant which is not a good sign. At least the food was good as was the company and conversation.

I GOT THE JOB!!! After 20 years in recruiting I’m moving on

Jason Meudt

Reminds me when I seen you walk into a church?

I will be working in the West Loop for the first time since 2018. Summer hasn’t loosened its hold on Chicago yet so I am hoping to get more biking along LSD on my commute before the seasons drastically change. I really looking forward to this career change and venture. Surely I’ll miss recruiting but I keep telling myself its not been secure when my career depends on the current and changing numbers as far as the job market is concerned.

9/13/2025 Saturday I biked up to Evanston once the morning rains ended. I took the North Channel Trail to avoid any flooding along the northern LSD bike trail.

The North Shore Channel Trail extends 8.3 miles from the junction of Green Bay Road and McCormick Boulevard in northern Evanston to the junction of Lawrence Avenue and Francisco Avenue in Chicago. I was scheduled to meet Ellen the Felon at 1 PM and arrived earlier than expected by one hour so I enjoyed the sights of a new school year beginning at NWU

I worked upstairs at HBO for a short stretch and ate at this place regularly. I had my first Chicago Hot Dog here. It changed my way of eating hot dogs for certain.

“Demon Dogs, founded in 1983 by Pete Schivarelli who was also the manager of the band Chicago, was just a little hot dog stand underneath the Fullerton El tracks famous for its Chicago-style hot dogs, that had become a staple of the trendy Lincoln Park and DePaul University neighborhoods. But every time the train passed overhead, which made the restaurant tremble, reminded everyone of it humble surroundings

Demon Dogs had walls covered with memorabilia—gold and platinum rock ’n’ roll albums, guitars signed by Eddie Van Halen and Steven Tyler.”

Devil Dawgs first launched in Lincoln Park just steps away from DePaul University in 2010. Following in the footsteps of the iconic Demon Dogs, Devil Dawgs set out to bring back the great Chicago-style hot dog and fries to the neighborhood. Devil Dawgs quickly made a name for itself by providing Chicago’s great classics and our unique take on hot dogs & burgers.

Now Devil Dawgs is also open in Evanston, Lakeview, Wicker Park, and in Downtown Chicago’s Gold Coast and South Loop neighborhoods. We continue to work hard to bring great food, premium ingredients and quick service in a fun and comfortable setting to each of our locations.

Devil Dawgs is fancier and more fun as far as atmosphere than it predecessor Demon Dogs was but it has a much more expanded menu. Not quite as good as Byron’s Hot Dogs which is a 2 minute walk out of my back door at home, its still pretty damned good and I like their fries better.

The Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park is located on the east side of McCormick Boulevard, between Dempster Street and Touhy Avenue, in Skokie, Illinois. The park is adjacent to the north channel of the Chicago River.

A collaboration of public and private advocates turned an eyesore into this beautiful park that runs for two miles from Dempster Street to Touhy Avenue in Skokie and displays more than 60 sculptures by artists of local, national and international reputation. A lovely landscaped and easily accessible place to stroll, rollerblade or bicycle.

The Sculpture Park is open all year, and admission is free. The Park welcomes bicycling and jogging, offers group touring and picnic areas, and is fully accessible to persons with disabilities.

I was hardly done after my Saturday ride so I went to Mariano’s in Edgewater and found their Nashville Heat Bacon on sale again

I decided it was nice enough to have a drink and grill some fresh burgers outside Saturday night and lit up the porch as well. It surely seems like this weather will stretch into October thankfully.
