I dig money I dig girls. I’m living it up while I’m in this world. I’m no angel I’m no fool. I’m not bragging I’m just cool. Rock ‘n’ rollin!Ooh my soul!

I just heard that Cousin Stevie Glasser passed away. Damn it all. He was so funny all of the time.

I was (along with Greg Miner) on season 3 of the Family Business reality show on Showtime.

“Much of the show’s comic relief was provided by Stevie, a cantankerous character who often gets into mischief and, as the series progresses, becomes a video director in his own right, as does Bishop, Glasser’s camera operator and video editor.”

Lila is again apparently the “”village”” it takes to raise a child as she stays with Brady while Adam is off. He’s in Chicago to take care of the Family Business in the area he always excels at – the press and public speaking. Cousin Stevie and Bishop are lost and in trouble…in Berlin!

In 1988 Liz Ubell sent me this tape of her WPTS FM overnight radio show the shift I once worked. I still have it in mint condition. She sent it to me in Columbus OH and recently I managed to find her online after many years of searching. I put a little effort into a few weeks back and we’re back intouch.

Postal Building Named for Legendary Singer-Songwriter

The building housing the Lakeview Station will be formally renamed in honor of the popular Chicago singer-songwriter Steve Goodman.

Steve Goodman (1948 – 1984) was a popular singer-songwriter and a fixture on Chicago’s folk music scene in the late ‘60s and ‘70s.  The Chicago native is best known for his song, “City of New Orleans,” which was a Top 20 hit for Arlo Guthrie in 1972, and has since become an American music standard.  Among his many popular recordings are two local standards,  “A Dying Cubs Fan’s Last Request” and “Go Cubs Go;” the lifelong Cubs fan succumbed to leukemia in 1984, just days before the Cubs clinched their first postseason appearance in 39 years.

Rep. Quigley introduced legislation this year to rename the building housing the Lakeview Station in honor of Goodman.  President Barack Obama signed the bill August 3.

Well, a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song
And he told me it was the perfect country & western song
I wrote him back a letter and I told him it was not the perfect country & western song
Because he hadn’t said anything at all about mama
Or trains, or trucks, or prison, or getting’ drunk
Well, he sat down and wrote another verse to the song and he sent it to me
And after reading it I realized that my friend had written the perfect country & western song
And I felt obliged to include it on this album
The last verse goes like this here

Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got run over by a damned old train

– Song by David Allan Coe ? 1975
