Madrid-based Icarus Dream surprise us with a new single called “Una Vez Tuve Miedo” (“Once I Was Afraid”) which closes the introspection trilogy that began with “Fuerza e Ira” and “Obscura.”
Regarding the song’s theme, the band tells us: “The song represents an anthem to personal reconstruction and emotional healing of a person who, after going through therapy, gradually finds themselves while facing a situation of inner grief. The lyrics, written from a place of vulnerability and courage, describe the circumstances that once left the protagonist of the story voiceless: fear, traumas, and insecurities. The song captures the sadness and emotional regret for lost time, and at the same time, the determination to find strength and clarity. The fight against loneliness, depression, and uncertainty becomes a liberating cry that highlights the importance of fully accepting and knowing oneself.”
The track has been recorded, mixed, and mastered by producer and friend of the band Alex N. Vega at Art Recording studios and represents the first recording with new bassist David Río who recently joined replacing Chuchi Bazo, who had to leave the band for personal reasons in November 2024.
The audio will be published on Spotify and all digital platforms on Friday, March 28. Pre-save link: https://beatclap.es/una-vez-tuve-miedo-XebCC4
