Washington, D.C.’s dark romantic electro-rock band Amulet have just released “Katharsis,” their epic new 19-song album opus on the Distortion Productions label. Fronted by the mesmerizing vocals of Stephanie Stryker and backed by multi-instrumentalist MJ Phoenix, Amulet’s music explores themes of love, loss, and the supernatural, weaving poetic lyrics with rich, atmospheric arrangements with powerful hooks backed, pounding electronic beats, ethereal darkwave melodies and driving elements of hardened rock, “Katharsis,” Amulet’s second album, is a 74-minute odyssey that showcases the evolving artistry of the band, offering a deeper dive into the mystical and melancholic worlds they create, a journey through the dark side of the human experience. Written over three years and in multiple countries, the album is inundated with bardic tales of heartbreak, anger and erotica. This is “Katharsis,” released today by Distortion Productions via all streaming and digital platforms along with a limited edition CD.
