Sparks fly and speakers explode when Finnish goth metal giants The 69 Eyes team up with punk rock legends Dead Boys to recreate “Sonic Reducer,” the foundational song of the early punk movement that has been covered by everyone from Guns N’ Roses to Pearl Jam to Foetus! Written by Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome and Pere Ubu’s David Thomas, “Sonic Reducer” was first recorded by Dead Boys in 1977, and was immediately hailed as one of the definitive New York punk anthems.
Add the powerhouse baritone of 69 Eyes singer Jyrki 69 along with explosive contributions from the rest of the Eyes and this new version of “Sonic Reducer” is custom built to blow your socks off! This tumultuous collaboration is available both digitally and on 7-inch vinyl, where it is backed with The 69 Eyes’ brilliant cover of The Cramps’ “Aloha From Hell!.” Check out the two part “in the studio” video shorts with Jyrki 69 and famed producer Cameron Webb (Motörhead/Pennywise)!
