Is this the final curtain? I don’t believe what’s happening. She hides behind a veil of tears. Plays upon my darkest fears.

Finally. If it’s not one thing it’s another. I’ve been overwhelmed with work which is good and I am very lucky that I work from home these days. I can get an early start, shower when I take a break and throw myself head into my projects. Then there’s the weather. I don’t get it but this season it has been more rainy than past summers and a lot more humid with heat hitting us in waves. ANd the rain isn’t just rain it’s horrendous thunderstorms. And lastly, my internet service has been completely unreliable. I’ve had my service provider out here 2x to no avail. ANd if just getting through my work day hours isn’t hard enough, trying to use the MK computer or watch my TV via streaming has been impossible. Funny thing is my bill is going up another $30 due to tax increases so it’s time that AZ and MK finds a more affordable and reliable provider. I took all day last Saturday off just to work on this website and get updates current. Saturday the weather was PERFECT for any outdoor activities and I stayed in and didn’t give in and go for a bike ride. No I stayed home and was able in 18 hours to get 2 stories posted. But that long day of nothing was sandwiched between two amazing days and a funday Monday that followed. So what’s been going on????

This is how I feel this summer. Hotter Than Hell and feeling short tempered.

One good thing is at least I have a Culvers and DQ near. I mean I guess Culver’s frozen custard is better than DQ but AZ is a sucker for nostalgia. Funny fact is that when I lived in the managers’ house while I worked as manager for Faerber Bee Window there was a DQ literally 1 30 second walk across the street. It wasn’t dine in but the old walk up style. I do love Lime Mister Misty’s and vodka It makes for a nice ride and in between I always have Output.

After a long hot work week Friday reward: Brownie and OREO® Cupfection

I noticed that they were setting u0p for an art fair so I made a plan to bike back in the morning and check it out. Even though I have absolutely no room at home to display any more art. Sometime I think about doing what my ol pal Chris Curry does and switch out movie poster art from time. Nah, that’s not me.

I went back and didn’t stay long. I went to shop at the massive Jewel store on Southport and then proceeded just to bike the day away. Back at the haus I made margarita snow cones.

HUMIDITY aka “mea dilemma” There’s nothing more disgusting than when I walk outside or inside from outside and everything is sticking to my skin. My hair. My clothing. My jewelry. It’s extremely uncomfortable for me personally. Its fucking nappy. It also makes it virtually impossible to sleep. If it isn’t the humidity it’s my allergies. They are blowing up worse than any season of my life. My friends and coworkers all the way down to Florida are having a helluva time dealing with it. I went to Walgreens one day after work and my nose was pouring like a since faucet. My eyes swollen and watering. It the morning its difficult to breathe. Not a very good feeling at all. For me its always worse after a big rain and when the temperature heats up very quickly my allergies fire away. Odd kind of embarrassing story to share about the die effects of my Benadryl and why I ended up at my doctors office. Once upon a time I was too embarrassed to speak of such things.

Look what rock n roll has done to me,

Oh how I love the Dock on Montrose. This summer I’ve only been there one time and that needs to change. I do bike by there quite often when I go to Marianos and back.

An artsy shot of the Dock that I found

Sunday July 21 2024 biked with Greg “Drunken” Duncan to the Dock On Montrose for some Sunday libations. Yes I do drink other cocktails other than my “Cowboy” drink (double Jamo on the rocks) We had an awesome tattooed waitress who is also a manager there. We hung for a couple of hours before returning to Casa Diablo. She likes my Human Centipede tattoo.

Of course the way we kick off most Sundays either before or after doing a podcast is the “rite of passage” and eating at El Palmar the most authentic Mexican quinine on the north side.

July 25th 2024 I watched The Acid King 2019 documentary. The story of Ricky Kasso, an American teenager who murdered his friend, Gary Lauwers, in an alleged “Satanic sacrifice” during the summer of 1984. It also creatures Jim Van Bebber a fil maker we at MK ULTRA worked with for nearly a decade of and on and all came to wras the night that I was assigned to be Jim’s babysitter. Not the greatest night of my life and is certainly a good story. It was an experience I got to share with a man who I still regard as one of Americas greatest underground renegade film makers.

Released in 2006 its a torrid tale of group of drifting, bored, drug-using teenagers in a small town in Ohio gets involved with a satanic cult.

BABY ITS HOT OUTSIDE

I was bored one night so I mede this monster

July 26th finally. A night I had planned to spend with LA GUNS out in Joliet but dammit I love Carols and I love the Jeff Givens Band and it is so close to home. I would finally get to take Melita to our second concert together since she’s been in America. When you see how she was dressed you’ll agree I made a wise decision.

I arrived early and got a table and ordered a drink and soon my friends would arrive one by one as usual. I always bring Jeff a good crowd. And he appreciates it I know.

A moment of silence that would not last long. David Allan Coe playing on the jukebox and teh band slowly loads in. It ha been a long work day and I was in need of this.

A Nashville Pussy sticker. Brings back some very crazy and fun memories.

How the pros do it as demonstrated by bass player Kevin Rodgers A.K.A. Karp

“Get on the stage Slim Tender you’re running late.”

Melita is ready to come out to a real honky tonk all 6 ft plus of her

THANK GAWD ITS FRIDAY!

And the weekend for the summer’s biggest blockbuster had arrived. TO BE CONTINUED

A bartender at SoJourn turned me onto these giant ice cubes for bourbon. I loved it so much I cam home and ordered a few trays and also a tray that make full skull ice cubes.

During the 2023 Chicago Mayor’s race Adam bet me a dinner of wings that Lori Lightfoot would be re-elected. She was out of the race by 730 PM and there would be a runoff between my candidate Paul Vallas and BLM Brandon Johnson.Amy was here with me for the results. I think I made pizza and we had bourbon the night of those results where we ended up with someone far worse and more dividing than LL. Amy broke down in tears.

True to his word 1 1/2 years later we met up at Output and had a nice meal of wings and great conversation along with Max Bravo.

Adam rode his Triumph and parked it outside. He named the bike Oprah because its fat and black and even had the balls to have vanity plates with Oprah on it

Max as he does dragging me from bar to bar and all I want to do is walk home.
