Los Angeles, CA (Friday, December 8th) 616, a show-stopping goth rock and roll band release a new single on Friday, December 8th. Flooded with moments of an emotional never-before-told story, “Baby Blue” dives into an unforgettable instance of love at first sight, and what came of it in years to come.
Matthew Lidwin, founder and lead singer of 616, wrote “Baby Blue” about a girl that he fell in love with six years ago even though he’d never met her. Though the two never met, this mysterious woman was a fan of the band, and even went to lengths of getting a 616 tattoo – showing their intrinsic link to one another – and an opportunity that never was able to come to full fruition.
The song is an anthem for all of us who have experienced love at first sight. With muffled, goth-infused lyrics like “I know it seems like we crossed the line, this song is all for you.” “You’re my baby blue.” “You’re my one the one-of-a-kind” the song centers around a yearning for someone you no longer have a grasp on. With rock and varying electronic textures, “Baby Blue” takes the style we know 616 for to a whole new level, both sonically, and emotionally.

Six years ago, we had a falling out and then it all came back stronger than ever. I fell in love. She is my dearest piece of the puzzle.” – Matthew Lidwin, lead signer and founding member of 616
