Continuing the theme 5/25/2023
May 26th, 2023 Josh Dick and I got an early start on the road to Sweet Minnehaha Campground for along weekend outdoors and a very long canoe trip. Josh had arrived the afternoon before and Greg Duncan was hanging around, we had a few drinks and called it a night.
A tradition as far back as I can remember has been stopping at the TA Travel Center 19 N, 430 US-20, Hampshire, IL. After COVID they did away with the truck stop diner which was amazing and once had a really nice buffet. Now it has a Popeyes. We picked up a few items and our next stop would be Wal Mart in Beloit WI where I picked up a few camping items and then we went to eat at Culvers. We were both very hungry and tossed the food into our mouth-holes and went then rest of the way to my all time favorite campground.
Sweet Minihaha campground is a fun filled campground with activities for everyone. If you like walleye and bass, make sure you pack your fishing gear. Fish from the banks of the Sugar River within the campground or from a canoe. Tube, canoe or kayak down the beautiful Sugar River. They offer tube, canoe and kayak rentals with free shuttle service. And also offer transport service for a small fee.
