“We’re all gonna rock to the rules that I make, I wanna be elected” – Alice Cooper

2/3/2023 – Watched this with my first cup of coffee 0 F degrees -11 F with wind chill. And I’m heading out into it for a few hours tonight and gain tomorrow morning.

Hello dear readers. I’m playing catch up and will fill in the blanks of the photos below and be adding more over the next 24 hrs. Josh and I have been diligently working on the new site and design. It’s not easy balancing the work with our jobs and events. Josh just launched a new company by the way The Liveish Agency www.liveish.agency out of Indianapolis so congratulations and he’s also launching the liquor company with his brother “Dick Liquors” www.getdickliquors.com .

My very first mail in ballot. I never had faith in this method before but I’m going to do it snd drop into a box and not USPS.

My University of Pittsburgh Days 1989. I was going to be a broadcast journalist. Que Pasa?

“Anybody who thinks that ‘it doesn’t matter who’s President’ has never been Drafted and sent off to fight and die in a vicious, stupid war on the other side of the world–or been beaten and gassed by Police for trespassing on public property–or been hounded by the IRS for purely political reasons–or locked up in the Cook County Jail with a broken nose and no phone access and twelve perverts wanting to stomp your ass in the shower. That is when it matters who is President or Governor or Police Chief. That is when you will wish you had voted.” ? Hunter S. Thompson

I attended 2 46th Ward Alderman Forums in 2 weeks. The nights were very cold but it was very educational. Six candidates are running in the open race to replace a retiring Ald. James Cappleman (46th), who served three terms in the office. Five of the candidates participated in a forum Tuesday at the Preston Bradley Center, 971 W. Lawrence Ave., held by Uptown United and the Uptown Chamber of Commerce.

As I do every year I braved the cold and attended the Lunar New Year Parade on Argyle and had very nice lunch. I’ve never been able to get any of my friends to go due to the cold. Except for 2020 just before COVID shut everything down. Stacy Washack who I had met when I was at the Looney Bin to see Tracii Guns joined me for the day.

Argyle Lunar New Year Celebration
Saturday, January 28th, 2023
12:00-4:00pm (parade kick-off at 1:00pm and only lasts 15 minutes)

The snow this year really added to the festive atmosphere. No complaints here.

Later that night at Wrigleyville North I got to meet my candidate for Mayor Paul Vallas who was very nice and actually took some time to speak with me.

I also got to meet and talk with the former State’s Attorney for Cook County, Anita Alvarez who was also very nice. I also spoke with 46th Ward Alderman Candidate Patrick Nagel at the same event. Not a bad day for an aging rock n roll cowboy.
