TWICE A MAN New Video

TWICE A MAN have not just pioneered electronic music, but the Swedes have also been deeply involved with environmental issues long before it became a widespread topic among artists. The trio has now released a new lyric video illustrating this fact, which is based on the remastered version of the track ‘Across the Ocean’. The song featuring an actual humpback whale will appear on the lavish 3-CD and 72-page artbook compilation entitled “Songs of Future Memories (1982-2022)” that has been scheduled for release on January 27, 2023 and can be pre-ordered from Dependent Records.

TWICE A MAN on the song and video:

“The song “Across the Ocean” is an appeal to care for life in the sea”, Dan Söderqvist explains. “We were invited by the association ‘Center for Studies of Whales and Dolphins to contribute to an exhibition at Kuturhuset in Stockholm in 1984, which led to the composition of ‘In the Eye of the Whale’. We went on to produce 3 songs out of this material. One of them, ‘Across the Ocean’, was remixed and released on a 12″ single. This is one of the first examples on how to use sampled natural sounds in music, because on ‘Across the Ocean’, the bass is played over the sounds of a humpback whale.”
