MOVIE REVIEW: The Boogeyman

Review by Paul J. Baio

The Boogeyman is loosely based on the short story in Night Shift by Stephen King. Soon after a family loses their mom to a tragic accident, a poorly rendered CGI Boogeyman is passed on to them like a venereal disease…, and creepiness but mostly boredom ensues. The movie actually comes off as more of a sequel to the original story, as only a few details from the source material are used to set up the premise. The movie did leave me with one burning wish…, “I wish I had seen Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse instead”.
