The masked New York City-based NØIR dramatically debuted with “Darkly Near” in 2013. Now, comes “Fallen,” NØIR’s eighth release, a true collaboration that features veteran vocalist Athan Maroulis, along with guitarist/producer Erik Gustafson (Adoration Destroyed), vocalist Kai Irina Hahn (The Sedona Effect), cellist Rebekah Feng (The Neuro Farm), guitarist/producer Ray Wilcox and remixes by SILVER WALKS and PARADOX OBSCUR, who also created a wondrous video for their remix. After the release of “A Pleasure” in late 2019, NØIR began work on the “Fallen” EP which all but ceased during the pandemic. Work resumed in ’22, when “Fallen” was put on hold due to the passing of Metropolis founder Dave Heckman (“Fallen” is dedicated to him). Eventually, the dance friendly song “Fallen” was completed, along with a sensual femme version by Kai Irina Hahn as well as the plodding new song “Death is Easy,” about the war torn Middle East. Ironically, this EP took so long to complete that it merged with plans for an all acoustic EP, readily heard on the moody version of THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS “Love My Way.” Hot on the heels of performances at festivals like The Unconvention and Dark Force Fest, along with Athan Maroulis completing background work on the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Metropolis Records has just released “Fallen” on all digital and streaming platforms.
