The Outwaters is a phantasmagoric found footage movie that falls into the category of WTF horror. Four friends take a camping trip to the Mojave Dessert only to be terrorized by strange sounds and flashing lights. We’re soon pulled down a rabbit hole of cool imagery and gore that makes no sequential sense whatsoever. In short the movie is a boring stew of pretentiousness and self mutilation that’s about as frightening as pineapple on pizza. It’s streaming exclusively on Screambox and playing in a few theaters.
