To supplement the recent release of Rack<\/em>, the Jesus Lizard\u2019s first full-length album in 26 years, and in anticipation of their upcoming U.S. tour dates, the band has released \u201cCost of Living<\/a>,\u201d a non-album digital exclusive single.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Cost of Living” is available now on all digital streaming providers and download services, arriving as the band prepares to kick off four months of international live performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSimply because I wrote the words to \u2018Cost of Living\u2019 doesn\u2019t mean that I know exactly what it\u2019s about,\u201d David Yow shares. \u201cI think it has to do with the dread and self-loathing that addicts experience on a very regular basis. You can pick whichever type of addict you choose.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duane Denison adds, \u201cA friend asked me if we had any tricked-out, odd timing type things with twists and turns, and I said \u2018Yeah, I think so\u2026.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release of Rack<\/em> (https:\/\/tjl.lnk.to\/rack<\/a>) marks a new chapter for the Jesus Lizard, whose influence on music remains undeniable. Since their inception in Austin in 1987, the Jesus Lizard has thrilled audiences all over the planet. The impeccable rocket-thrust rhythm section of bassist David Wm. Sims and drummer Mac McNeilly was the perfect launchpad for guitarist Duane Denison\u2019s jagged yet clean-toned riffing and vocalist David Yow\u2019s mercurial vocalizations manifesting as everything from panicked citizen, reality escapee or wounded sea mammal.
