Lyrics like “I don’t want anyone to know, I’m afraid of you letting go… put it all aside… at the end of the world… they’ll say… that we didn’t try enough…” demonstrate the struggle of trying to maintain a relationship with someone when it’s passed the point of return. Writer Nick Wolf uses the end of the relationship interchangeably with the end of the world in this track, utilizing powerful lyrics like “We’re past the point of no return, now we watch the whole world burn. We’re going blind. Crawling through the dark, with nowhere left to turn. Without a single doubt, I know, I can’t find alone. And if this is the only chance for us, our destiny unknown.”

Writer and lead singer Nick Wolf laments “Imagine if you could save the relationship, or save the world, with just a little more effort. But you didn’t put in the effort, so it failed, and everything died.” Lyrics in the song reflect this sadness, and the powerful electronic rock backing further instills this message within its listeners.

Inspired by real life and “a general concern that the world is in a bad place and on the brink of collapse,” “Die Alone” speaks to the morbid nature of love, relationships, and loss.

About Oceans on Other Planets

Formed in 2024 by Nick Wolf, formerly known as Nicholas Emilio, Oceans on Other Planets features members Nick Wolf (Icarus Landing), Jack Glazer (Plastic Rhino) on bass, Zak St. John (“In the End” Linkin Park tribute) on drums, and Mike St. Michaels (Scarlet Rose) on guitar.

Combining classic, stripped-down hard rock with modern indie, Oceans on Other Planets takes a unique music-making approach, combining new sounds with a nostalgic feel.
