Marilyn Manson<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 real name Brian Warner<\/strong> \u2013 has been ordered by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to pay $326,956 of Evan Rachel Wood<\/strong>‘s legal fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report by Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>, Wood<\/strong>‘s legal fees were racked up during Manson<\/a><\/strong>‘s ongoing defamation lawsuit against her. The financial damage could’ve been worse to Manson<\/a><\/strong>, but Judge Teresa A. Beaudet<\/strong> ordered nearly $60,000 of Wood<\/strong>‘s full claim not to be paid, saying that some of the lawyers’ billed hours were “vague.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manson<\/a><\/strong> filed his defamation lawsuit in March 2022 against Wood<\/a> and her friend Illma Gore<\/strong>. In the suit, Manson<\/strong> claimed the duo conspired to paint him as “a rapist and abuser,” going as far as saying “that Wood<\/strong> and Gore<\/strong> ‘provided checklists and scripts to prospective accusers, listing the specific alleged acts of abuse that they should claim against Warner<\/strong>.'” Manson<\/a><\/strong> called their acts “malicious falsehoods” and claimed they completely derailed his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, a portion of Manson<\/a><\/strong>‘s lawsuit was gutted in 2023<\/a>. Beaudet<\/strong> ruled against Manson<\/a><\/strong> last March on his claims that Wood<\/strong> had “recruited, coordinated, and pressured” women to come forward with false statements against him using a checklist and a script, as well as the claim that Wood<\/strong> forged an FBI letter. Beaudet<\/strong> also ruled that Wood<\/strong> and accuser Ilma Gore<\/strong>‘s claims that Manson<\/a><\/strong>‘s 1996 film Groupie<\/em> featured an underage individual was a “protected activity.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Based on the foregoing, the Court does not find that Plaintiff has demonstrated a probability of prevailing on his IIED [infliction of emotional distress] claim based on Wood<\/strong> ‘recruiting, coordinating, and pressuring multiple women to make false accusations against Warner<\/strong> and to be part of their film project,'” said Beaudet<\/strong> in her ruling at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wood<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Manson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0have been making headlines for years after\u00a0Wood<\/strong>\u00a0publicly named\u00a0Manson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0as her abuser in 2020.\u00a0Wood<\/strong>\u00a0detailed being mentally and physically tortured by an older man when she was 18-years-old, and most recently claimed\u00a0Manson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0“once threatened to fuck her eight-year-old son<\/a>.” You can see the details of her original accusations\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
