The LP, which was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by engineer&nbsp;<strong>Chris Collier<\/strong>, combines classic hard rock with tinges of metal and ultimately bridges the gap between contemporary and classic metal. Comparable to groups like&nbsp;<strong>SOUNDGARDEN<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>ALICE IN CHAINS<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>KILL DEVIL HILL<\/strong>&nbsp;showcases its ability to experiment with many different styles in this album and push the envelope on what is expected \u2014 keeping things fresh and exciting for their fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KILL DEVIL HILL<\/strong>\u00a0has already released four singles from &#8220;Seas Of Oblivion&#8221;:\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Playing With Fire&#8221;<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Blood In The Water&#8221;<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>&#8220;You Can&#8217;t Kill Me California&#8221;<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Before The Devil Knows&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"nv-iframe-embed\"><iframe title=\"Kill Devil Hill - Playing With Fire (Official Lyric Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4YAXXl7xB4c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KILL DEVIL HILL<\/strong>\u00a0was established in 2011 by former\u00a0<strong>BLACK SABBATH<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>DIO<\/strong>\u00a0drummer\u00a0<strong>Vinny Appice<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>PANTERA<\/strong>\u00a0bassist\u00a0<strong>Rex Brown<\/strong>. After going through a few member changes,\u00a0<strong>KILL DEVIL HILL<\/strong>&#8216;s present lineup consists of\u00a0<strong>Johnny Kelly<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>TYPE O NEGATIVE<\/strong>) on drums,\u00a0<strong>Mark Zavon<\/strong>\u00a0on guitar,\u00a0<strong>Dewey Bragg<\/strong>\u00a0on vocals and\u00a0<strong>Matt Snell<\/strong>\u00a0(ex-<strong>FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH<\/strong>) on bass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"nv-iframe-embed\"><iframe title=\"Kill Devil Hill - You Cant Kill Me California (Official Lyric Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AjJezobn1Gk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commented&nbsp;<strong>Kelly<\/strong>: &#8220;There was a little bit of a new direction in the songwriting. I&#8217;m sure it had to do with the different lineup. I tried to be more song-oriented in my approach to the songs. I think having&nbsp;<strong>Chris Collier<\/strong>&nbsp;producing played a big part as well.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortly after he left&nbsp;<strong>KILL DEVIL HILL<\/strong>&nbsp;in early 2014,&nbsp;<strong>Vinny<\/strong>&nbsp;said that the band&#8217;s inability to gain significant traction with its music was a major factor in his decision. However, more recently,&nbsp;<strong>Vinny<\/strong>&nbsp;has suggested that he exited the group because he &#8220;couldn&#8217;t deal with&#8221; the fact that some of his bandmates were consistently tardy for&nbsp;<strong>KILL DEVIL HILL<\/strong>&nbsp;activities by an hour and a half or even longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asked to respond to\u00a0<strong>Appice<\/strong>&#8216;s comments and address the fact that the drummer&#8217;s explanation for why he left the band appears to have evolved over time,\u00a0<strong>Mark<\/strong>\u00a0told\u00a0<strong>&#8220;J-Bunny&#8217;s Music Hub&#8221;<\/strong>: &#8220;Well, both [of his stated reasons] are true. And he&#8217;s right. And there was [tardiness].\u00a0<strong>Dewey<\/strong>, our singer, at the time, was kind of going through some hard times and some personal difficulties, and he did have a hard time showing up sometimes. And even when we were on tour, he was \u2014 I don&#8217;t know, man \u2014 just having a little bit of trouble. He&#8217;s a totally changed man now, and now he&#8217;s the first guy, anywhere we go, he&#8217;s the one telling us, &#8216;Hey, man, we&#8217;re gonna be late for soundcheck.&#8217; But in those days, yeah, it was a little harder to wrangle him. So\u00a0<strong>Vinny<\/strong>\u00a0was right. And\u00a0<strong>Vinny<\/strong>, he doesn&#8217;t really put up with that. He&#8217;s a name guy \u2014 he&#8217;s got a history and a reputation. He&#8217;s a pro. He&#8217;s a star. So you can&#8217;t blame the guy for that. I certainly didn&#8217;t. I was the first one there [for rehearsals and live shows], &#8217;cause I was stoked to play with those guys. So I try not to question it. We&#8217;ve got great guys in the band now, and everything happens for a reason. So I&#8217;m looking forward to putting out this new record and people hearing what we can do&nbsp;<em>without<\/em>&nbsp;those guys in the band.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Vinny<\/strong>, who had previously played with&nbsp;<strong>BLACK SABBATH<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>DIO<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>HEAVEN &amp; HELL<\/strong>, left&nbsp;<strong>KILL DEVIL HILL<\/strong>&nbsp;in March 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KILL DEVIL HILL<\/strong>&nbsp;released its sophomore album,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Revolution Rise&#8221;<\/strong>, in October 2013 via&nbsp;<strong>Century Media Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KILL DEVIL HILL&nbsp;will release its third album,&nbsp;&#8220;Seas Of Oblivion&#8221;, on September 20.
