The bands were nominated for their most recent releases, all of which came out during 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Best Hard Rock\/Metal&#8221; nominees were as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*\u00a0<strong>AMON AMARTH<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; &#8220;The Great Heathen Army&#8221;<br>*\u00a0<strong>ARCH ENEMY<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; &#8220;Deceivers&#8221;<br>*\u00a0<strong>GHOST<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; &#8220;Impera&#8221;<br>*\u00a0<strong>THE HALO EFFECT<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; &#8220;Days Of The Lost&#8221;<br>*\u00a0<strong>WATAIN<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; &#8220;The Agony &amp; Ecstasy Of Watain&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GHOST<\/strong>&nbsp;was also nominated in the &#8220;Album Of The Year&#8221; and &#8220;Artist Of The Year&#8221; categories, but failed to win those awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GHOST<\/strong>\u00a0leader\u00a0<strong>Tobias Forge<\/strong>, who hails from the Swedish town of Link\u00f6ping, accepted the award in person, telling the audience at the event (translated from Swedish): &#8220;For some reason I thought this would happen earlier in the evening. When I realized it would happen a bit later.. as you know, it takes a lot of teamwork to make a record, everything from getting the record together sonically to getting it out in physical form. I&#8217;ve worked with a lot of people and halfway through this evening, I realized, &#8216;Fuck we haven&#8217;t been mentioned yet. Our category hasn&#8217;t been mentioned! I&#8217;m gonna be way too drunk!&#8217; So I told\u00a0<strong>Klas<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<strong>Klas \u00c5hlund<\/strong>, producer of our record \u2014 that if we win anything, we should get up here together because it would be difficult to remember everyone that&#8217;s been part of it. So, some of the people who have helped us:\u00a0<strong>Klas \u00c5hlund<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Salem Al Fakir<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Vincent Pontare<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Max Grahn<\/strong>&#8230; and a whole lot of other people. Everyone from\u00a0<strong>Universal<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nicholas<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Christian<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>BMG<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Live Nation<\/strong>\u00a0has been there and helped us so much. Thank you very much everyone who has been involved.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"nv-iframe-embed\"><iframe title=\"Ghost (Tobias Forge) @ Grammis 2023 - \u00c5rets h\u00e5rdrock\/metal\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XkngptKTGlE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GHOST<\/strong>\u00a0previously won three\u00a0<strong>Grammis<\/strong>\u00a0awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the U.S.,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Impera&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;was honored in the &#8220;Favorite Rock Album&#8221; category at last year&#8217;s&nbsp;<strong>American Music Awards<\/strong>, while the&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Impera&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;single&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Call Me Little Sunshine&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;was nominated for &#8220;Best Metal Performance&#8221; at the 2023&nbsp;<strong>Grammy Awards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GHOST<\/strong>&#8216;s fifth album,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Impera&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;sold 70,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. It marked the third top 10 album \u2014 and fifth top 40-charting set \u2014 for the Swedish act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;Impera&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0landed at position No. 1 in Germany and Sweden, No. 2 in the U.K., Netherlands, Belgium and Norway, No. 3 in Australia, No. 5 in France and Ireland, and No. 20 in Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;Impera&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;was released in March 2022.
