These new tracks whisper of dreams, murmur of despair, cry out in madness, and reflect on hope and loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new EP,&nbsp;<em><strong>Persephone<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;calls upon the influence of&nbsp;<strong>The Cure<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Siouxie &amp; The Banshees<\/strong>, with blueprints drafted by Neil Gaiman&#8217;s &#8216;The Sandman&#8217;. It unleashes the urge to throw inhibitions aside under the restless moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The time for warnings of apocalyptic demise from&nbsp;<strong>The Funeral March<\/strong>&nbsp;has passed. Their new release instead contemplates our mental and emotional undoing before that day comes\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Persephone<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is available NOW in streaming, digital download, and compact disc formats. The band re-formed in 2017 in the post-industrial city of Rockford, Illinois: the current lineup consists of Joseph Whiteaker (Vocals, Bass, Synths), Darius McCaskey (Bass, Synths, Programming), and Wayne Thiele (Guitar). Their work blends elements of gothic rock and post-punk music, combining a number of new and classic post-punk\/gothic influences to create a dark, passionate sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The band took its name from a Charles Gounod composition best known as the theme music for the television program Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
