The estranged bandmates played together for the first time since 1983 and were backed by former&nbsp;<strong>SLAYER<\/strong>&nbsp;drummer&nbsp;<strong>Dave Lombardo<\/strong>&nbsp;and guitarist&nbsp;<strong>Acey Slade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, the original lineup of the&nbsp;<strong>MISFITS<\/strong>&nbsp;has reunited for scattered dates, with the latest one taking place on October 29, 2022 at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to the\u00a0<strong>Riot Fest<\/strong>\u00a0concerts,\u00a0<strong>Glenn<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jerry<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein<\/strong>\u00a0last performed together on October 29, 1983.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three years ago,&nbsp;<strong>Danzig<\/strong>&nbsp;told&nbsp;<strong>Rolling Stone<\/strong>&nbsp;magazine that he was happy with the way the&nbsp;<strong>MISFITS<\/strong>&nbsp;shows have been going. &#8220;Shit, we sold out Madison Square Garden,&#8221; he said. &#8220;As a matter of fact, we oversold it. Back in the day, all the bigwig promoters and record label people were, like, &#8216;A punk band will never headline Madison Square Garden.&#8217; And, of course, we&#8217;re the first punk band to headline there. And not only did we sell it out, we oversold it. So a big fuck you to all those assholes, who are probably selling hotdogs on Sixth Avenue.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The original&nbsp;<strong>MISFITS<\/strong>&nbsp;band broke up in 1983, and&nbsp;<strong>Only<\/strong>&nbsp;brought forth a new version of the&nbsp;<strong>MISFITS<\/strong>&nbsp;in 1995. Various members have come and gone, but&nbsp;<strong>Only<\/strong>, along with&nbsp;<strong>BLACK FLAG<\/strong>&#8216;s&nbsp;<strong>Dez Cadena<\/strong>, has kept some form of the&nbsp;<strong>MISFITS<\/strong>&nbsp;in the recording studio and on the road for most of the last two and half decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a 2016 interview with\u00a0<strong>Rolling Stone<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Only<\/strong>\u00a0said about working with\u00a0<strong>Danzig<\/strong>\u00a0again: &#8220;<strong>Glenn<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0<strong>Glenn<\/strong>. We dealt with\u00a0<strong>Glenn<\/strong>\u00a0in the beginning and it&#8217;s the same dealing with\u00a0<strong>Glenn<\/strong>\u00a0now. It doesn&#8217;t change. It&#8217;s just a different perspective. If we let\u00a0<strong>Glenn<\/strong>\u00a0be\u00a0<strong>Glenn<\/strong>\u00a0and do what we&#8217;re supposed to do, it&#8217;s gonna work. You don&#8217;t argue with each other. I think we&#8217;re over that. I think we&#8217;re old enough now.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asked what it was like keeping the\u00a0<strong>MISFITS<\/strong>\u00a0going for 20 years without\u00a0<strong>Glenn<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Only<\/strong>\u00a0said: &#8220;There was always that hole. When\u00a0<strong>Glenn<\/strong>\u00a0split, there was always that feeling we were missing a component of what makes us what we are. And I&#8217;m sure the same goes on for him. In the other bands he was in, he&#8217;s changed people left and right.
