This is his third feature, and where I didn&#8217;t like his first two, Antiviral (about a guy who sells celebrity illnesses to obsessed fans), and Possessor (about an organization using brain implants to turn people into assassins), I disliked Infinity Pool just as much. A writer searching for inspiration and his wealthy wife take a holiday at a remote island resort. They are warned to never leave the resort as the rest of the island isn&#8217;t very friendly. They of course ignore this warning, and upon the accidental killing of a local farmer, the husband is sentenced to death. They are offered a way out through cloning, by having the clone executed instead. This leads to countless shots of Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd&#8217;s ass, and an occasional naked Mia goth. There&#8217;s more to it than that, and it could have gone in so many cool directions, but sadly doesn&#8217;t. Perhaps Brandon Cronenberg&#8217;s brand of SciFi is just too hardcore for me.
