SILVERTOMB<\/strong>, the all-star band featuring former TYPE O NEGATIVE<\/strong>\/DANZIG<\/strong> members Kenny Hickey<\/strong> (vocals, guitar) and Johnny Kelly<\/strong> (drums),and their three equally renowned bandmates Joe James<\/strong> (guitar, ex-AGNOSTIC FRONT<\/strong>),Hank Hell<\/strong> (bass, SHEER TERROR<\/strong>) and Aaron Joos<\/strong> (guitar, keyboards, vocals),will release its second album, “The Interpretation Of Nightmares”<\/strong>, on November 13 via Steamhammer<\/strong>. The official lyric video for the LP’s latest single, “Brain Matter \/ No God”<\/strong>, can be seen below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hickey<\/strong> comments: “‘Brain Matter\/No God’<\/strong> was the first song written and opens the record with the heavy, thematic riff that returns in one form or the other throughout the work. The lyrics describe a nightmare in which the dreamer is shot and experiences his own death inside a dream.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Just as things were really beginning to take off for SILVERTOMB<\/strong>, our hands were suddenly tied for a number of years due to the pandemic and its long-lasting aftermath; on top of that, I had a drinking problem that urgently needed sorting out,” says Hickey<\/strong>, looking back at the period between 2020 and 2024. Shortly before that, SILVERTOMB<\/strong>‘s debut ‘Edge Of Existence’<\/strong> (2019) had been released and met with unanimously positive reactions from fans and media alike. On top of that, a tour with MONSTER MAGNET<\/strong> had been scheduled before the international lockdown brought the world \u2014 and with it SILVERTOMB<\/strong> \u2014 to a complete standstill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now, in 2026, these difficulties are thankfully history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Interpretation Of Nightmares”<\/strong> is an atmospherically dense doom metal masterpiece outclasses its predecessor in many respects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The debut single “No Way To Live”<\/strong> is a slightly faster track, acting as a sort of counterpart to the album\u2019s slower, more brooding tracks with lyrics about rejection and pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in 2019, Kelly<\/strong> told Antihero<\/strong> about SILVERTOMB<\/strong>‘s sound: “There’s elements of what we were doing with SEVENTH VOID<\/strong>. It seems like it’s a continuation from that, but the songs and the song structures really took a life of its own. It’s more layered and textured \u2014 not to the extent that we would do in TYPE O NEGATIVE<\/strong>, but it has a little bit of that flavor to it. It doesn’t sound like TYPE O<\/strong>, but, obviously, you have two guys from TYPE O NEGATIVE<\/strong> in the band. It’s going to have resemblance. It’s still a more rock-oriented approach than the slow-paced, doomy aspect that TYPE O<\/strong> had. Now that we’ve added a keyboard player, there’s a lot more layers and textures to it than what SEVENTH VOID<\/strong> was.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
