Alicia Witt comes to Evanston SPACE with her new David Lynch inspired album, Between Heaven and Earth. Witt has described Lynch as having ‘changed my life in every way a life can be changed’, starting with her first acting role as Alia at age 7 in DUNE (1984) and spanning 4 collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre-show meet and greet reception tickets available at the ticket link. This is extremely limited availability and includes a meet and greet, a photo with Alicia, and autographing (up to 5) brought items and\/or anything purchased at merch table. Start time is 2 hours before door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This show will feature a one-night only CHICAGO based band, featuring John Barbush, Alejandro Urzagaste and Christopher Merrill. The brilliant singer-songwriter Alice Wallace opens the show – get ready for some incredible yodelling!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between Heaven and Earth, the haunting and deeply personal new album from Alicia Witt, arrived August 28 via Thirty Tigers. Recorded live in New York City with acclaimed producer Joe Henry and a band assembled specifically for the project, the album exists in a space suspended between transcendence and intimacy, channeling what Witt describes as \u201ceternal unconditional love\u201d and \u201cthe place suspended between heaven and earth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The album was profoundly shaped by the influence and memory of David Lynch, whose impact on Witt stretches back to her first film role as Alia in Dune at age seven. \u201cI can\u2019t imagine who I would be without David Lynch,\u201d Witt reflects. \u201cHe is weaved throughout the fabric of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Throughout Between Heaven and Earth, Witt explores what she learned from Lynch \u201cregarding love. The eternal nature of it, the idea that only love is real.\u201d She describes his presence as palpable throughout the making of the record: \u201cDavid was with us every day in the studio. All six of us in the band felt his presence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


While widely recognized for her acclaimed acting career spanning film, television, and stage, music has remained a constant throughline in Witt\u2019s life. A classically trained pianist who supported herself as a musician when she first moved to Los Angeles, Witt has long integrated music into her creative identity, both through her own songwriting and in many of the roles she has portrayed onscreen. She’s released multiple full-length albums, including Revisionary History (2015), The Conduit (2021), and I Think I’m Spending Christmas With You (2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Tracked live over four days with vocals and instrumentation recorded simultaneously, the album embraces what Witt calls a \u201cvisceral and eternal\u201d energy, one that \u201ccould never be replicated.\u201d
Guided by Henry\u2019s vision and the chemistry of the musicians in the room, the songs were created instinctively and in the moment, with minimal overdubs and an openness to what Witt repeatedly refers to as \u201cthat place\u201d \u2014 the transcendent emotional state she connects to through Transcendental Meditation, prayer, creativity, and Lynch\u2019s work itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
